Nice! When I was checking out the floorplans I really liked the rear kitchen. Feels more like a house rather than just a galley kitchen stuffed in the middle. Unfortunately I would probably need bunks to accommodate kids.

Just added the cargo carrier. My receiver is mounted a little crooked but with some shims I got to within about 1" over 60". Next will be the 20 cu. ft. cargo bag. I figure that will allow us to carry 6 nights of firewood instead of 3. I'll put some of the bulkier items on the carrier and the firewood in the bed to keep the weight balanced better. On the return trip I won't need the carrier so i can just fold it up.

It probably could be modded. The dinette does flatten into a full bed.

Just wanted to let you know in the event you are not aware, that having that rack that far out will exponentially increase the leverage that your factory hitch will have to absorb.

Keep an eye on the welds and mounting points as these will fail first.

My generators were empty of fuel but they still made it set on the factory bump stops. I’ve since then add a timbren kit to my truck. If you get good seasoned wood it shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks and will do. I actually moved it in 3" thinking about that. It's factory made and I haven't seen anyone complain about that in the Amazon reviews but I'm going to keep an eye on it. With a full load of canoe, bikes, carriers, and cargo, I figure total weight will be about 300 lbs. I think Toyota max tongue weight is in the mid 600s and the carrier itself is rated at 500 but I wouldn't dream of approaching that.

Thanks! I''m going to put the wood in the bed and move lighter bulkier items to the carrier to free up space for the wood.

Does sleeping in your bed count as truck camping? :)

There is only two mandatory requirements for truck camping ,and you have them both. Everything else is optional.

What happened to all your trees? Being from the East, pics like yours just freak me out. It’s pretty, just freaky. I’ve never been anywhere where is not a tree in sight...

It’s called desert. Or high country. Or red rock country. Lots of places have little of no trees.

I'm from NJ myself (just moved to CO). That part of Utah is stunning and surreal!

I understand they exist, but you can’t show me one in Alabama.

As a gal born in Alabama, all I can say is you need to get out more. While there’s a lot of beautiful places in AL, there’s so much more out there.

I can vouch for the desert thing. I lived in Alaska for 14 years, and have lived in GA, PA, WV and Germany. I was stationed in Arizona and it was such a surreal land Scape. I was mesmerized, loved it. I'm actually going back to live in AZ in a month after a few years in bay area California and half a year in Afghanistan... I can't seem to escape deserts lol
