Universal joint leaking?

Is my u joint leaking? Do I need to replace or just fill with new grease? See photo

 

That's grease. You should add grease to every u joint at each oil change, when you rotate your tires. Every 5000 miles

Put in grease until fresh grease comes out of all 4 bearings. It will drop grease. Be prepared for that.

 

Is there only 1 zerk?

 

Per u joint

 

If your truck is 4x4, you have 5 u joints. 3 on rear drive shaft. 2 on front.

 

Clean, fill with new grease. Monitor...
IF problem persists, replaced ALL of them since you will be dropping the driveshaft either way.

 

I had grease stripes under my old T100 from greasing the u-joints. If you don't have any symptoms of a bad u-joint, you're probably ok. Just like stated earlier, grease them every couple of months. Pump it in until the old stuff oozes out and call it good. Just keep an eye on it. If you grease it often enough, you'll likely get a lot more mileage out of it, especially if you don't tow much.

 

I tow a lot and use 4x4 regularly. I grease the rear every 2500 miles and the front every 5000

 

If problem persists...??? For a problem to persist there would have to be a problem in the first place. And to clean the grease off the exterior of a greasable u-joint - man, you have way too much time on your hands.
