Great job for a a school project! Your teacher was likely more amused with the amount of effort put into the video than the abundant amount of spelling errors. He should probably strap that vest on a little better next time.

Sometimes my teachers just grade more for creativity and entertainment rather than grammar and stuff on projects like this. I think the main point of the project was to make an enjoyable movie so they deserved the A and it would kinda suck to get a bad grade on something like that from a few simple mistakes in the editing process rather than the big picture.

I’m kinda similar. On the surface, people don’t really think of me as a smart person unless they really know me and look at my grades and work. I can’t even count the number of times that people have told me “wow I didn’t think you were that smart” when I tell them my gpa or sat score (1490). But that’s the way I like it.

And to relate to the thread, this is a video my friends did in history class for WW2. The funny thing is that they did it last minute and no one thought they would finish cause they usually slack. Some of the scenes are just boring but some are pretty funny like the “Rosie the Riveter” and “Atomic Bomb”.

Part of the point is that if you "usually" slack, do something last minute, it "usually" shows. (as in sloppy errors in editing, grammar like OP's and your example too). At that point GPA, SAT score, everything you did in the past doesn't matter. In the real world with real adults, it shows. As in it shows that you either don't care or don't have attention to detail.

The true in some cases but also not true in others. For example, my brothers friend always slacked in school because it wasn’t his thing. However, he has a huge passion for cars. He’s currently at a trade school for mechanics and is working for a funny car drag racing team and also did a internship with a nascar put crew. Also, my grandfather was told by his high school counselors that he would make it past a year in college. However, he became a pharmacist and now owns a 1400 acre cattle farm. Sometimes people just don’t apply themselves in school but thrive in the real world.

More entertaining than Game of Thrones better writing too, and as much action as an episode of the A Team.

Primary school in America isnt about taking pride in your work or even learning work ethic. It's literally just about padding your GPA and doing well on standardized tests so you can go to college.

Hell, college is worse in that regard, because no employers really care about your GPA if you have the piece of paper.

"Real world" employers find people who can follow directions, work as part of a team, and be adaptable to different situations more desirable than perfectionists who are hypercritical of others.

I didn't put any more effort than I needed into HS work, still got the grades and the sat/act scores to go to college, and now make close to six figures at one of the largest aerospace companies in the world.

What you described might be how it "should be" in your mind but reality is far different.

Also, if you're going to be a grammar Nazi, next time at least make sure your posts aren't full of issues too. Or maybe you're "usually" lazy about those sorts of things on forums?

You didn't follow the directions and you still got an A? My teachers would have given us an F because we didn't do the assigned project. Things have changed a lot in 8 years.

Only grading what's meant to be graded...As in the only one grading forum posts is YOU.

Comprehension is challenging for some no matter where you work or how much you make and whether you think that your salary makes you correct or smart.

You fail to see that the point is not about how you grow up to be successful but what really qualifies as successful work at the point of you life you are in now... which referencing the OP's post, is that what qualifies for a A grade in English class and still has grammatical errors wouldn't pass in any English class I've ever seen, and what THAT says about our education system.
