It's the same thing as rifle owners picking up the newest caliber that is hand load only that is realistically similar to a half dozen already readily available loads.

Companies try to say you need 5fps faster so your effective range is 1 foot longer. That'll DEFINITELY make you a better hunter!

Oh, and, might pick up a crossbow instead of a compound. Realistically I don't have the space to learn how to shoot (don't have a yard and the closest archery range is like 45 min away) so the fact that xbows are dead simple and "easy" is something that would be kinda necessary for me.

We have a couple x-bows, Parker is decent and good price range and kills deer. anything under 40yds is dead,

    Cross bows are not bows.

    Completely different.
I would just stick to gun hunting.

if you can expand your hunting seasons and harvest enough to fill your freezer go for it. I'm sure you'll hear shit from some people, but if it's legal to use it's your choice.

I mean compounds aren't really either. I wonder which is further than a stick and string, compounds or recurve crossbows?

Compound bows are bows. Cross bows are essentially handguns. Not the same set of skills or effort as bow hunting.

cool. Bows are fun IMO, I havent made much time to shoot mine this year and it showed early in bow season. I thought the bow was loose or something was off...turns out the only thing off was me!

It has been a ton of fun so far. We are both planning on putting in for this next season, for both elk and deer. But I try to shoot a bit every day. We mainly got them to take care of our coyote problem, we have lost over 30 chickens to those bastard. Lost 17 just the morning of the 21st.

Too close. We have a 200 yard rule and my closest is about 75. It left us with 2 guinea hens that night. And came back last night and sprung one of the traps and got one of them last night too. So tonight I set up a blind in the back of the truck and will be waiting with both bow and rifle. I figure, I'm not gonna unload more than 1 or 2 rounds if need be. But I'm gonna try to take it with the bow if possible.

Only have had one coin show up, (have a game camera) after the 1st flock disappeared in one night. But it is just one asshole.
