Norcal Spotted and BS Thread

Phantom 3 Pro is super dirt cheap now. Even cheaper if you buy them used, so less to cry over when it crashes.. They don't have any obstacle detection though. I've crashed my Phantom 3 a bunch of times now. Ironically, the only thing that really put it out of commission was when it was sitting in the passenger seat and I hit a whoops. The camera no longer outputs video, hopefully it's just a loose ribbon cable, but we'll see. DJI service kind of sucks, so for the most part you're on your own because most crashes/losses these days are operator error (loss of signal after flying beyond visual range of the mark 1 eyeball). I know a handful of people who got lucky with their DJI drone disappearing and getting DJI to comp one for them, but usually they either ignore you, say you need all the logs and data from the flight logs, or simply say you're done.

 

jealous of upcoming Glamis trip, i want to get out there.

Wasn't too bad, but lots of wrenching in tight places. I had to do like 100 sit-ups (my creeper called me fat and broke ) going back and forth side to side getting the pressure feed disconnected. 1/8th of a turn from driver side, 1/8th of a turn from passenger . Took me a few tries to get the steering shaft splines lined up right with the rack. Big thanks to @jberry813 for talking me through the proper connection a few weeks ago. It really helped

Also big thanks to @EDDO for the use of his grinder, and @Don5352 for the TW Express. If anyone is doing the swap soon (2nd gen), definitely cut out the driver bolt... Thanks to @Gply for offering his garage, and @Moogle for always being willing to help. Lots of love to my TW Family!
