Thinking of doing a small lift on my truck. It’s a 2014 TRD Sport, I don’t do much off road other than driving to hunting spots. I’ve been looking at the rough country 3” or the adjustable Bilstein 5100. Just looking to get some input from you guys, thanks.

What lift coils do u recommend? I'm trying to stay under $500, keeping my stock rims looking to run possibly 285’s

Not true, I’m maxed out at 2.5” on stock TRD SPORT springs and the ride is way better than stock.

First you said a small lift, then you said RC 3". If you're gonna go 3" save up some more money and do it right. Go to the suspension page and spend a bunch of time reading what other people have done. BTW 285's aren't going to work on stock wheels without spacers and a cab mount chop.

Id still reccomend proper lift coils like ome or eibach, on 5100s set to zero lift.

If u are referring to the 5100 coilovers that adjust by a spanner wrench, they DO ride terrible when maxed out to 3". Felt it myself

I'm riding on a 3inch lift consisting of lift coils and 5100's set at 0. Rides OK. Buying lr ucas to get back some handling and alignment specs. If you are keeping the truck till it dies, start with maxtrac spindles and dakars and add the good stuff as you go.

Forget the spindle idea then, 2wd only.

Alternatively, you can run the Bilstein 5100 at 1.75" so as not to max it out, then a 1/4" top plate spacer for ~2.25" front lift - you are basically spreading out how the coil is loaded. I have mine set like this with 1.5" blocks in the back and it looks and rides great. I will say that I have maxed out 5100's in front before on other Toyota's and it still rode great.

Sure...I'm on 265 70 17 Duratracs with Method Standard 17x8.5 ET0. Rake on level ground is about 3/4" front to back. Let me know if you have any other questions.

toytec/eibach lift coils give 1.6” and set it on the .85 spot on your 5100. It will be a decent ride and the springs are like $160 for the pair.

5100 @ 0” w/ 2.5” Eibach spring, 1.5" Icon Progressive 3 leaf + 1” block, Procomp Wheels, Grill Thin Lip (Custom Car Grills Mod), Access Tonneau Cover, Pop & Lock Tailgate Electronic Lock PL8521
Something else to think about if you’re doing this on a budget. Lifting over 2.5” generally means you’ll need upper UCAs to correct alignment. Caster is usually out of whack at that height and can’t be corrected on factory UCAs. Those can be over $400 just for the control arms.
