I won't lie, I am far more sore/exhausted from fabbing all day then I am wrenching at work. Being in a welding jacket all day, grinding, plasma cutting and welding is fucking wicked hard work... I melted my shoes with the plasma, burnt my hand welding and had a molten hot spark while welding somehow find my ear hole! That was quite possibly one of the fastest I've taken a helmet off in my life lol

Been there. People give me shit because I weld with earplugs. But they haven't burnt an ear drum and lost 30% hearing in an ear.

This is the most terrifying thing i've heard in a long time. And not just because my ears pay the bills...

But i wear ear plugs as well...but only because the welder is too loud anyways for me :anonymous:

    Jesus..slag down the ear...heebie-jeebies..

I actually only wear earplugs so when my wife comes down to bug the shit out of me I just point at my ears and throw up the universal "what the fuck" sign language symbol so she leaves me alone.

I just leave the welding helmet on and keep making sparks on anything i can. Keeps her from tapping me on the shoulder too.

I tried that once. And she kept tapping and tapping and tapping. Until I said "hold on fucker!!!!"

Really really loud. When I flipped my hood up, it was not my wife. No no no no. It was a local Sheriff deputy. Oh well.
