So I picked up some bfg's used but 2 of them are load range D and 2 are load range E. Can I run them if I do the D's on the front and E's on the back. Is there any reason not to?

So long as you keep them in pairs I don't see any issue. However, you may want/need to play with air pressures to see what PSI they should be set at. Front and rear, D vs E.

Chalk test might not be a bad idea. Both D and E rated tires are much heavier duty than a Tacoma needs weight wise anyhow.

In an ideal world it'd be best if all four were the same tire though.

I agree I'd rather have all 4 the same. I may run them for a few months while looking for 2 more D tires.
