Out with old in with the new!!

I bought a basic Pro Comp 6" Lift last August and it used most of the stock suspension products... Well now i'm wanting a smoother ride and a more functioning lift! What coilovers (or gas shock) and Leaf Pack would i use to make my life a lot better?

 

Are you going to stay at 6' or go down to 3'inchs??

Doing good now. We need to get together and make those spacers for you. That would save a lot of money if that made your ride better.

 

Yeah but this post is about doing research on what i might need to replace all the spacers in my suspension... I had a guy tell me on his GMC's lift kit he put on his truck it actually came with bigger spacers for his carrier bearing and the directions told him to drop his shaft until it was naturally straight and put the spacer in their that best matched his gap... How safe is that?

 

Depends I guess. Its just something you gotta do to maintain the original designed geometry of the drivetrain. Vehicles are engineered to run under certain conditions and when you're modifying something to the extent that you're altering the vehicles performance beyond design intent, problems are bound to arise. Adding spacers will help to alleviate the stress you're putting on the drive shaft, however you are still changing the geometry elsewhere.

 

icon offers CO's for large lift applications and for the best ride possible for the rear you would need to have a custom leaf pack made for you from either deaver or alcan.

i think King makes a similar style shock that would work with you set up too.

 

IVD and Kings both makes coilovers for lifted applications.

 

I was looking up King and i like them but i was wondering how do i know if they will work for my truck?
