We had a similar issue with my wife's subaru. Throwout bearing was really jacked up and we got that shudder from a start really consistently.

Yeah, as long as you're dropping the transmission to do the throwout bearing, just do it all!

Any recommendations for a salvage yard/ pick n’ pull place on the front range?

I busted my front left mud guard on my 3rd Gen and not looking to spend dealer prices on a part I plan will break again. Not interested at going with an aftermarket part yet. Best price Ive seen is $31 for one or $40 for a full set of four.

Do you think I could get one for $10 or a pair for $20?

FYI it's way easier to pull the cab to do the clutch, but not necessary.

I put this in my truck and with the few miles I've driven so far it's been great! Low pedal pressure and grips like it should. I will get my tuning more dialed and give it the onion and see how it holds to 10 psi.

 

Do you have a DCLB 1st gen yet?

 

Yeah I've read a lot about those Marlin HD clutches.

My philosophy is: the OEM one lasted me 215,000+ miles and did me just fine for every on road and off road adventure in the past 19 years.

I'll still look into it before purchasing whatever I go with.

Oh...and I like Step 1 "remove cab" as part of the walk through. Your garage available?

 

It could be, but I do not want to pull a cab in my garage! I didn't even do my cab swap at my house!

Edit: My OEM lasted 70K before it was slipping the instant I put the SC on. When with at ACT after that and it was fucked at 80K, I was never nice to it. I wanted something that could hold the power without the 100lb pedal pressure. Time will tell if this one holds up.
