Well guys, looks like I get to replace a U-joint on the front axle of my dad's cummins. Got a bad clicking sound from it as the tire rotates. He's just shy of 100k miles but its weird.... it just started happening after he got stuck and damn a log up in the passenger side. I didn't know you could really hurt them haha

I've replaced front axle u-joints on a ford front end. Do not press the old u-joint out, I bent the u-joint part of an axle that way. Use a big punch (left over wrist pin, holds piston to connecting rod works well) and a big hammer, 5 lb plus. The u-joints fit very tight so using a press is risky.

Wilkinson area seems like a garbage dump, I went to the top with a cool lake and decent f.s road turned trail. It had a foot trail down to the lakes just past suprise lake. Have to do more exploring later.

On your way down past the ranger station. The shitty stop sign on power pole. Go left and up hill to Evans creek bout 25min up. I want to explore that more.

Was up f.s 57 out of north bend today. Found lots of gold flakes, the high peaks have a dusting of snow.

@turbodb thats awsome, wish me and my 1 of 3 kids would have ran into you.

I wasnt as lucky, slid while reversing into the only tree within 15ft of us not even on a trail. If anyone know where a 5ft bed is I am in need. Finders fee a given

    HA!
I did an exploratory trip with an NWOL guy to Lonesome Lake area (NF 75/73) and cutting trails in snow (2' or so).
Lots of mall crawlers attempting to get thru snow when they couldn't shouldn't be there...

That depends on what you want to do. If you're using 4 bixenon projectors you could do 4 lows and 4 highs but it's very, very, very (add about 10 more verys) to get all of the low beams to align.

If I were going to do a quad setup I would probably just do two sets of non-bixenon projectors and mount one set upside down for the brights. But 4 los and highs... That will be stupid bright.

I just think that a bi-xenon hi beam only is kinda useless since it takes a few seconds to warm up, and turning on/off more frequent than low beams will wear out the bulbs quick

Yeah, I slid into an ~8-incher when I was running the OBDR earlier this summer; it didn't budge either, until I cut it down in order to get out. :annoyed:

Speaking of diesels, finally got the old Jetta Wagon TDI to turn over after a battery swap and some tires patched. Gotta do the oilpan and the turbo next.

Little thing is a BEAST, towing. Stage 3 tune with a VNT17, injectors, getting 150hp/270ftlb. Towing 70-80 mph in the passes with a 3k trailer wasn't a big deal at all, got 25 mpg doing so.
