    This new chip rocks!!!!!

I'm loving the #1 setting. Most of my driving is on the interstate and this is exactly the setting I wanted for that. No more jumping gears. I have noticed my transmission temps lower and my gas mileage is even a bit better w/ this.

Just bought one. @dcz108 Does the SSP improve gear hunting when Cruise Control is engaged? We all know how terrible the CC is in our trucks.

I can tell you from experience that it greatly reduces hunting for gears while using cruise control. It's much better that standard 'D'.

I have my SSP v2 set to selection 3 aggressive...

In my experience, it doesn’t hunt for gears in CC but it seems to hold gears longer at high rpm. On long distance trips, flat freeway speeds at 75, I found myself going back into Drive to save gas mileage.

It might help if I change my SSP selection but I enjoy the aggressiveness in traffic.

That's what I love about this new version. Setting #1 is awesome for my driving style and #3 is great for this type. It is saving each of our transmissions as it is not shifting as much and drives the want we want it to. You can get exactly what you want in an automatic transmission on this truck now. I will probably switch to #2 if I load down at Home Depot or Lowe's and then to #3 if I tow, but that's the great thing about this given the odd nature of this "thinking" transmission. Maybe the learning part will smooth out in later editions, but not so great now.

    Awesome invention!!!

Just ordered mine today. Looking forward to its affects when I add 295/70/18 Ridge Grapplers in a couple weeks with the 6” BDS lift.

At what speed on option 1 does the 5-6 gear change happen?

The shifts are based on combination of speed an accelerator pedal position. I just added a new graph and table to the product-images, which outlines the minimum upshift speeds for the three shift-maps on the V2. If you are light on the throttle, it will upshift at the min speeds. If you are heavier into the throttle, it will upshift at more-appropriate higher-speeds based on the maps.

These charts/graphs can be found in the SSP V2 product images:
    https://www.dz-custom-innovations.com/

As a general comparison, map #2 is similar to the baseline programming which was on the V1 units. Map 1 has most of the shift-maps indexed down by 7-10% relative to level 2, and Map 3 has the maps moved up by 8-12% relative to level 2.

I've had SSP V2 for about a month in my 2017 TRD Sport. I immediately became more relaxed the first time I drove in Map2. In Map3 it has better power. Seldom have to downshift anymore. Well worth the price.

Guys and Gals if you own a 3rd gen, I'm gonna have to put this SSP V2 in a must have category if your frustrated with the gear search / lugging issue these trucks have, just installed mine today left it in default 2 mode , only got to drive it between 5 to 10 miles up and down hills and flat hwy to test it out and Wow, what a difference, cannot help but believe gonna solve transmission issues down the road. Will update after more miles and check out other 2 modes. Hats off to DZ Custom Innovations. P.S would make a good stocking stuffer, just saying :santa:

I have a Sense Pro and LOVE IT! I leave it on setting 3 for normal everyday driving. Eliminated the constant and early shifting. I wouldn't waste my money on any other fixes as they haven't been proven. The Sense Pro has!!!!

I just stuck mine under the front seat as I did not it hitting my leg when I drove. I ran all the wires between the center console and my WeatherTech floor mat. All you can see is one wire coming out near the shifter down to behind the mat.

Finally got around to changing to map 1. I'm usually pretty good at driving the speed limit (or traffic limit) and I'm happy I have 6th gear back. On map 2 I never saw 6th.

Installed SSP v.2 in my 2016 TRD off-road for a 900-mile trip to Houston and back. Used setting 1 for the trip. Truck was nicer to drive in the city and did smooth out CC somewhat on flat sections. However the slightest incline would cause the truck to rev to 3K+ (75 mph) in 5th gear and hold it, so I drove most of the trip without CC engaged. So, just have to get used to not running constantly in the fast lane. Running 275/60R20 Falken Wildpeak AT tires. Gas mileage ticked up a a point or two on average.

    Had a question for folks...

Has anyone noticed the SSP sometimes not engage when you first shift after backing out of your driveway (for instance)? I have had it happen a time or two that I back up and just shift right in and it does not seem to "catch" or however you want to put it.

Do/should you wait until it counts down from 4 to 2 before you take off?

Yes, give it a couple of seconds after coming out of reverse.

Poking around to see if this will solve my issues. I have a 17 OR with 33” tires. Steel bumper, winch, skids, sliders, topper, rtt, bed storage system, rear bumper soon. Basically a ton of weight. I live in Colorado st 5,500+ feet. On the highway my truck can’t hold 5th gear at 65-75 mph. It stays in 4th at like 3000-3500ish rpms. It’s killing me and my gas. Will this help give power to stay in 5th gear at highway speeds? I’m leaning toward rehearing, but if this will help, I’ll consider it.

Well, it's cheaper than regearing (guessing that's what you meant to type), so you could try this and see. I think it will help, but as you said, you have a lot of weight and big tires, so not sure how much. It will not give you more power as it only changes the shift map.

I'd say try it and see. If it were me in that position, I'd rather spend $200 and see if that helped my problem before I went to the time and expense of regearing.
