Thanks! Will check out 2N02. Definitely try Old Dale Rd if you like mine sites and a little rock climbing- I did it before lifting my truck a bit and it was fun. Just take your time on the mountain side of the route and you will clear the rocks if you are stock.

Wow, that is a huge group. I was just up that way a couple of weeks ago. Me and a buddy did the Main Divide Truck Trail. Was about a 3 hour ride.

I wouldn’t take that Lexus there! Keep in mind, I did hit my skid plate on it, mainly due to being there at night and not being able to see well enough. It’s a good road to learn on, and crawling slow and easy is the way on it. I like to take it North- if you go south on it you will be using your brakes a lot.

That’s well, I guess the Lexus can do it. Back in 1979, my friend and I took his dad’s Vista Cruiser station wagon on a week-long desert trip and got pulled out of the sand in Glamis by a Whilly’s that could do wheelies in low gear, then very stupidly went up Old Dale Road and made it through. The road was in a lot better condition back then, but we had to gun it in the sandy gravel parts of Pinto Basin to keep from getting stuck. When we got back, the engine was covered in sand and the oil cap was missing. His dad sold it soon after that trip.

That Porsche SUV reminds me of several Death Valley and Joshua Tree NP visitors who try off-reading for their first time in the summer and get stuck or lost, never to be seen again. Too many people think their urban SUV’s can make it off-road. Nice pics though, Cleghorn and that entire side of the San Bernardino’s is really neat.

He isn't kidding, I was close enough to high five his passenger, if he had one!

I came from the darkside... I've owned a couple Jeeps and a couple Tacos... I think everyone in my group was impressed that the Taco hung with the Jeeps no problem. Went on 2N02 black diamond and didn't need the locker!

Headed out to Forbidden plateau on Vancouver Island this weekend. Original goal was to go ski touring in the area. But due to the warm weather in the last 2 weeks the few feet of snow we had melted below 1000m elevation.

So met a guy in a Jeep And went Wheeling, I was very impressed with the stock tires this weekend, I made it up and around a lot easier then the Cherokee did.... Then again I learned he was running 50psi Iater on, after he got a major flat.:rofl:

We also found this truck buried up to his Frame. No owner around though.

I wish I had pics, but the rain was nasty yesterday. We picked up a load from Ikea: small L-sectional couch, matching chair, 6ft window bench, large-ish desk, ottoman, and some small stuff. Thankfully, the couch and chair were somehow flat-ish packed. All but the ottoman fit in the bed with the gate down.

    I'm pretty happy about that.

Ah- is that Palomar in the distance? Nice!!

There’s a cool forest road going up the north side of that from HWY 79.

Camped at Pismo Beach over the holiday break. Went playing in the dunes. My truck is bone stock. I have a build planned out for it but taking my sweet time to really get to know the truck in it's base form.
