I found these in another driveshaft vibration thread. They just converted there stock DS with the CV.

Even Front Range Driveline is advising against a 1 piece driveshaft, they have had customers who had regeared and the long one piece had vibes at 50+ mph due to reaching and surpassing critical rpm.

 

Wouldn't you need to change the pinion angle to align with the drive shaft then?

 

Yep, but the end result is vibration free

i have a one piece with being regeared and have no issues. altho, my drive shaft is 8.5" shorter cuz of crawl box

 

what gearing / tire combo are you running ?

 

And probably a bit moor clearance at the front of the diff....should've done that when I just rebuilt my drive shaft and welded my axle perches

 

Buddy back home is rebuilding the motor in his Honda and sees this on the top of one of the pistons...when you see it

Ok, vibe free, stronger, set the pinion angle and forget it.

 

Why not just go to a solid one peice drive shaft and get rid of the carrier bearing?? Seams like the nicest way of lessoning vibs and you really are not loosing much doing so

Totally is. I mentioned it in my original rant about Toyota cutting corners and cheaping out.

Have a chance of running too quick of rpm for a one piece drive shaft with the 4.56s and 32s.

Guess I could go a Tom Woods shaft and risk having to ship it back for a refund.
