Deer hunting BS thread

Yea, I'm a little concerned what the woods will be like after this.
Good news, the trail is now cleared of trees and I can get my truck closer to my stands. Won't have to drag as far. About a mile or so in East KY hills.
Bad news, my friend said he's not seen many deer all year long. Smelled death year round. Blue tongue

 

I read there were a few places in Eastern ct. with blue tongue. First I heard of it here.

Got in early the other night. Setup near a scrape and a trail. Took my tablet to read. Don't see anything except for an owl. Forget my tablet when packing up. Go back around 930 that night. Walk back to where I sat. Almost stepped on fresh scat within 5 foot of where I sat. Timing is everything.

 

Dude man if i wanted a piece of leather, id go to a shoe store haha. Red meat is supposed to be red. 10 mins on a half inch steak is approaching inedible with a fatty ribye, i dont even wanna think what deer meat would look like

welp, my grill has a temp (very accurate) dome thermometer, get it to 400, toss-n-turn when they sweat.

 

LOL yep for me its about 1min35 seconds on each side for 1/2" thick backstraps.

 

we get people doing that alot. i have informed people in the parking lot that they should wear blaze orange for their safety, but most think they own the woods and say people shouldn't be hunting there

 

It's across the creeks in Ohio and WV, too. Most likely came from WV since their herd is so huge.
I think they're allowed 6 deer in a season

 

After a week of hunting I finally got a decent buck. The ol' Remington 700 in 300 win mag always drops them in there tracks. He has a 19.5 inch inside spread and shot him just shy of 200 yards. Never seen him on camera before and he was rutting hard. (NC)

 

we get hippies from Seattle who are out mushroom picking and of course are wearing all earth colored clothes. They get really bitchy "are you like, going to like, hunt very like, far from here?" Um no bitch we just saw two doe's a 100 yards back the other way.
