    was it difficult to get the 3 studs out for the thermo? I origanlly thought they were bolts, like the replacement ones the kit comes with.

    External torx, or more easily a socket that fits snuggly. Which is what I used prior to owning 1/4" external torx sockets.

    Long handle 17mm wrench. Non ratcheting. As well as a second person with a crescent wrench and a rag of some sort to protect the valve train and head.

    I can’t remember but maybe the stud was shouldered and only had threads at the very end. Maybe if you have thin nuts? Hehe. Thin nuts...

    Torx socket will get it out. That’s the easiest way

    It is around a 5mm or 6mm. Doesn't take much force. Vice grips, or which ever method to get it out.
