Only your lift capability :} Out of curiosity what is it set up for ? I see the grapple and the small dozer blade it looks like you could work in the woods pulling and pushing trees etc . Can you fold that thumb all the way back out of the way to just dig with it ?

Ahh well it is has been said one never knows what is in another's mind.. I generally consider it a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Sorry to hear it but mostly sorry for the family and loved ones left behind . Been around a fair few of these only one was an out of the blue and the OSI never did figure that one out.

That's the basic set up. It's (probably) the largest of the small excavators at 91" wide. The push blade is usually for back filling ditches, but I use it as a stabilizer most of the time, an anchor to keep from pulling the machine into the dig, light dozing, clearing stuff off where I want to work. The thumb can be used for rock and trees and it folds back against the stick (the segment the bucket attaches to) for digging. I use it a lot for loading brush.

I pull out a lot of non-native and/or invasive plants and trees, clear vegetation off some shorelines, feed the rock grizzly, dig trench for utilities, locate utilities...all kinds of stuff. I'll get more attachments to make it more versatile.

We also have a machine that looks real similar to a loader but it's referred to as an "intigrated tool carrier" (IT). It has forks, a bucket, brush/rock grapples, a piece that looks similar to a box scraper that works forward or reverse (V3 Flex Plane) for backfilling, contouring slopes, light road grading, spreading material. I also have an auger that'll fit and a street broom coming in another week or so.

So, combined with the dump truck, they both make being a one man show a lot easier and very versatile.

Or, if it needs to be done and we can't do it with what we have, I better buy another implement.

There's quite a few people who are now more aware of what the equipment can do. Before I got here there was the IT with just the forks and a bucket, a beat up old backhoe and a skidsteer. Getting rid or the hoe and the skidsteer, reducing operating overhead and inventory. Putting less money into more implements and not having machines parked really makes more sense.

Yeah , I did not get it as I have no need of it but the new model quick change bucket on the Kubota takes skid steer attachments from most other manufacturers . I think they are gunning for people who one maybe two machines but with all the implements to do the job and not force them to buy their attachments.

I was told as we were visiting Tacoma that they have a very large amount of intellectual individuals but yet the highest suicide rate? Could it be lack of sun? Idk.

Not to be overly philosophical but the direction we are heading could be associated to a Feuerbach quote: “The turning point of history will be the moment man becomes aware that the only God of man is man himself.”

Skidsteer implement attachment is pretty well standard. Some claim there are a few that vary but I haven't come across them yet. I do have a couple adapters for the IT so I can use skidsteer implements. It makes it easier and, quite often, cheaper because they are less expensive than IT attachments. You're really only limited by your imagination and checkbook.
