My friend's Frontier 4x4 looks like a five lugger 4x2. The interior is one color-gray. The body has no excitement to it.

How about the upside down oil filter buried under the skid plate, Not only do you have to unbolt the skid plate , oil drips down your arm as you unscrew the filter, Nice design nissan:rolleyes:

Having owned both brands in the past, it mainly boiled down to price or a flip of the coin for me.

What knocked Nissan out of the running for me this time was the lack of a regular cab and/or 4cyl 4x4.

 A round of kool-aid for everyone. Drink up!

I had a 2000 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner that didn't give me any problems in the 86,000mi I owned it. I took good care of the truck and put what little extra money I had in highschool and college into it. I'll see if I can dig up a pic on my computer. It would have been scanned in since I didn't have a digital camera back then.

After that I bought a 2004 350Z. 76,000mi with no problems. That car was even less maintenance than the Frontier. Regular fluid changes and thats about it. It was still running strong when I sold it this past December. I came close to purchasing a 370Z Nismo but I felt that it was a softer car than the 350Z and my business needs pushed me towards a truck.

I'd get another Nissan in a heartbeat, especially if they happened to come out with a RWD 4-cyl sports coupe.

While I really love my Tacoma, I'd have to say that I'm probably more likely to go back to a Nissan than to purchase another Toyota.

Actually i wish the taco had this....keeps all the scratches away from your tailgate handle!

Not sure why Tacoma's don't have plastic door handle surrounds as well as a plastic tailgate handle surround. I've thought about moding it somehow...line-x?

My 91 nissan 4x4 ex cab was a great truck. The thing never gave me any problems except new tires in the 50000 miles I owned it. The quality was on par with the first gen tacomas. The newer ones I don't like as much, but the quality of a lot of newer model vehicles has gone downhill lately. I really like my new taco, but the build quality of it isn't what the first gen trucks were.

Ehh you guys can sing all you want about the composite bed I still don't feel safe hauling wood, or rocks in the back last week I was at my buddys new house and we where pulling out all the rocks in the backyard to so he could plant grass (our soil is full of big rocks in he north) and honestly I was cringing as we where tossing them in the back. I guess maby I just need to get used to the fact it's strong I have also loaded my dirtbikes onto my truck wtb the tailgate on and it didn't budge with me the bike and ramp putting weight on it so that was a relief I thought I heard they reinforced the tailgate on the 09+ trucks so maby that's why.

the reason everyone hates the nismo on here is because this is a tacoma web site.....
just so you know i owned a nismo brand new in 06 and the truck was an animal..
i loved the interior so much better than my taco
it just came with so my more features that this taco i have now.....
but then again the cat convert got pluged and sent pieces into the motor at 46,000 miles nissan replaced at no charge but the tranny started to slip so i traded it in for the taco....
all in all nismo is a great truck

i have owned and own nissans, toyotas and hondas (with their high end line up, acura lexus and infinity) and have come to the conclusion that if you want a truck you buy a toyota, a car- honda and a sports car - nissan. I had a frontier and it was good but not tacoma good. i have a 370z and it is really good, my wife drives a 2009 acura tl and loves it. i would never buy a frontier over the tacoma again but the frontier is still a good enough truck. just my 2 cents

I have a Tacoma and it is the best truck ive ever drivin. Suzuki is one of the worst vehicles you could ever consider buying. Terrible mechanics and its like a mix of a Tacoma and Frontier. Its a total wanna be for sure.

The frontier may be a decent vehicle but the tacoma is far superior. My tacoma tears threw mud better than any Nissan ive ever seen.

I have a Tacoma but work for Nissan. The Frontier is a very good truck, and in some areas, even better then the Tacoma. Having a fully boxed frame, rear disc brakes, power power, factory sunroof, useful tie downs and a solid box is never a bad thing.

I really do not agree with people who say that the Tacoma is a far superior truck compared to the Frontier. This is not the case, they are both great trucks with advantages and disadvantages. I love my Tacoma and bought one because I think it looks nicer then the Frontier, but the Frontier is definitely not an inferior truck.
