Makes sense. I have no experience with ALG's AR products but I'd definitely go with them.

Not familiar with the PSAK-47. I'd look it up but our bandwidth here is crap. Couldn't you swap the front grip with a different type? Wooden or otherwise?

In other news, I picked up a new Trijicon TA31RCO-C4MP (USMC version) on Gunbroker the other day for $1100. Hadn't been able to find that particular model anywhere else for less than $1,466. Pretty excited to finally get one.

Run the one you already have, worst case it doesn’t have enough weight to reliably cycle the weapon. The only difference between a rifle buffer and carbine is the length and weight. The weight can be made up with a heavier carbine buffer, the length is irrelevant, to the point a rifle buffer should be obselete.

Had a psak47. It was refunded by psa. After 300 rounds the receiver was working all of the rivets loose. Would not buy again.

Storm series. Used to be made by hardigg but now pelican. I like the storm 3100 but a lot of people like the bigger ones.

Unless if you plan on overstate traveling like in an airplane for half the price I would go with Plano brand cases!

I have one of these. Double case, lockable, TSA approved, and holds a ton of stuff. I opted to NOT cut the foam so I can put other guns in it when I need to and it works just fine that way.

Exactly!, if you want to cut your foam, I have found out that 1750 pelican case replacement foam. (Foam number is 1751)on eBay almost perfect in there. You just half to cut your radiuses in and about a 1 inch strip down the length

I have a few of the Plano cases as well, they work fine for range trips, etc.
However a lot of my shooting takes place via boat. Having a case that is 100% element (including salt water) proof that also floats is a huge factor.

Unrelated but if anyone needs to fly with a yeti or similar cooler they make great pistol cases. :D Used mine to store gear for a camping trip and didn’t want tsa posing anything so I put one of my glocks in it.

I picked up a Plano 36" case today from Academy Sports with locking latches for $ 69.99. It will fit my needs real well. Thanks for all who posted help.

Posted these in the what did you buy thread.
7.5 inch 5.56 with YHM Phantom supressor with quick disconnect brake. Without the supressor, the end of the brake sits flush with the Midwest Industries handguard. Magpul K2 grip.
    Holosun circle dot red dot.
Still waiting on buis and a DevilDog Concepts side charging kit.

    Update on this.
Sent my BCG back to Aero. They sent me a shipping label and said they’d send me a new one once they receive the return. Kinda cool of them. I did mention that if they test or evaluate the BCG and their findings are the same as mine (extractor problem) they could just send me back my old BCG with a new extractor and I’d be fine with it. Now just waiting.

Finished my pistol build. Still waiting on the second kinekt qd rail for the non-vertical foregrip to show up but it’s functional.

Needless to say my plan for a $400 pistol went WAY over budget. But I like the balance and think this will replace my current bump-in-the-night gun.
