7.5 inch barrel. The YHM QD brake sits flush with the end of the handguard.

Has anyone bought the magpul hunter magazine well for a Remington 700 and mounted in a regular stock? It's worth a $75 upgrade to have a detachable magazine in my opinion but not sure if I like the magpul stock/cant afford it. I know there are some other options but magpul in my experience makes a quality product.

I am running the hunter stock on my 40xb-hb, and for what it's worth, it's a solid choice for such a low price. Good starting ground if you are thinking of going to a high quality stock or chassis.

I appreciate the input! I really just want to be able to carry an extra round and have a detachable magazine. On my 700 in 300 win mag I already have a timney trigger (don't know exact weight but it is not a glove gun). It'll shoot constant 1 inchish groups at 200 yards which is great for blasting deer and coyotes :laser:

When you talk about being able to carry an extra round or two is this something you had in mind?

It is a two round holder that is Velcroed on the side of my rifle called a hotshot holder

I have a mossy oak one that slips on the butt stock, it holds 8 or 10 rounds. I was meaning having an extra round in the magazine. My remington holds 3+1 and I'd like 4+1 (which is what the magpul set up allows) They also (I think) make 10 round mags for magnum cartridges which would be nice for target practice on the range.

I have never needed more than the 4 rounds it holds standard but there is something about a detachable magazine on a bolt gun that I love. I appreciate the input though!
