    Hello All,

I am new to the forum and I need some advice. I have a 2007, 4.0 liter, V6, 4X4 Taco. It only has about 56,000 miles. The clutch pedal started not returning after depressing it, and now the gears are not going in as smooth. Is it too soon with the low miles to be needing a new clutch? I haven't felt it slipping when it is in gear. I wish I was as mechanically savvy as most of y'all. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Crow

Hard to diagnose over the interwebs but this seems like a problem with the clutch hydraulics based on your description.

Thank you Tater! Trying to avoid taking it to the dealer. I'm looking for a good garage nearby. When it is in gear I am not experiencing any slipping.

I would have it looked at soon. Minor slipping might not be obvious but will take the clutch down fast. Find a good independent mechanic, not a dealer

Possibly the throw-out bearing/slave cylinder. Any loss of fluid? Try bleeding it and see if your pedal returns.

Older yota pickups used to have the fork style that made it easy to replace the slave cylinder from outside the transmission.
