Would you stay with the 5vz or try a diff engine? Those Pauter rods are like $1,600 for the set.

What kind of wheel hop, if any, does your truck have off of the line?

I weigh 3600lb on 9psi and run a 11.4 1000' which is ~13.7 quarter mile. Depending on how much you weigh, that might be low 13 high 12.

Oh that's with a 2.1 60' time because I can't boost off the line without drag radials- it just blows up stock tires.

You can retain 4wd and run the same tranny even. Bolts right to a 2jz. Need to run electric fans though due to length of motor. Plenty of other custom shit too. But very doable.

I wouldn't bother personally with a 1jz. Too small and too much of a hit on low end torque. Especially for a truck. 2jz all day. Only other down side is parts for those fuckers are insane.

it kinda sounds like you need to sell your 5vz and buy a 2jz and put ~$1000 usd in your pocket
