Ha! I just wasn't sure how each of those systems actually produced power and why one was better than another. That dude had some cool builds though.

 

yeah its pretty nuts that he went supercharger first and then he was like screw it... TURBO!! 400 lb/ft of torque on 13 psi on that 3.4 all stock internals is crazy. I'm hoping for those kinda numbers on mine but with 7.5 psi since I have a bigger more powerful motor to start with and I can get e85 at the pump


he is running meth so the e85 is almost moot

 

How much do SCs and TCs affect MPGs?

 

it depends on how much you push the pedal on the far right. but a SC even out of boost will hurt a little, I would say 5% just because it has a parasitic effect since it is belt driven. a TC also has some parasitic effect due to the back pressure it creates in the exhaust, however, I would say that back pressure is not as much as people chalk it up to, because I got ride of my manifolds and now have headers, cats and resonators are gone, and I have a straight through muffler... so I'm not saying it's free horsepower, but it's free horsepower. you also have to run higher octane fuel for F/I so your weekly fuel cost will go up. my mpgs took a huge hit but that is primarily because I swapped to e85 which requires about 30% more fuel to burn/combust correctly but I can get it for less than $2 a gal where premium fuel is $2.50?? a gal

 

I lost about 5-10% on average per tank (still getting 17-18 mpg).

EDIT: 93 octane @ Costco is $2.50ish

 

yeah I'm getting e85 for $1.89 on my last fill up I think. I get $.10 off on Thursdays and sundays at Mapco so that's when I try and fill up. I really have no idea what kinda mileage I'm getting now cuz when I put my tank back together something didn't geehaw, so I spill like a qt of fuel out before the pump cuts off if I try and fill up, so I just kinda guess how many gals I need and put that in there haha

those lights are pretty bright too, but I guess it would be difficult to mount them without an aftermarket bumper unless he/she wanted to do them as back up lights or maybe bed lights or somethin
are they in to anything non truck related that you can tell by creeping? like hunting, fishing, cooking, knives, guns etc?
