The same shit everyone else has.
Drove into the back of a VW Passat on the way to work this morning.

I'm pretty bummed right now. This kinda makes me want to puke a little.

The dude in front of the dude I hit turned left at the last second without a turn signal. The dude in front of me locked his brakes up. I had no choice but to do the same. Locked em up and tried to swerve outta the way, didnt quite make it. Nailed the VW in the passenger taillight. Luckily I didnt slam into the car dead center and luckily there was no one behind me I guess.

Bumper is toast, fender/flare is toast, foglight is gone, retro'd headlight is destroyed, the core support is tweaked, and the alignment is now way off.

    Today was very unproductive.

I had a similar situation last year, cashed out the insurance settlement, fixed what I could and ordered a pelfreybilt steel plate bumper with the rest.

    This and that...
Blacked out the hardware on the pods. Don’t need the shine of stainless. Looking to install in a couple of weeks when the brackets come in.

If the inner fender/core support weren't so tweaked I'd be interested in taking the insurance check and fixing it myself.....

Maybe if I can figure out how to work that into the estimate/repair.

This is the first time in 32 years of life I've ever had to deal with an insurance claim so I'm going into this blind.

Sorry to see this Bud. I've been there myself and it sucks. No try to make some lemonade out of the lemons and go ahead and look at a plate bumper for the front so Insurance can pay for part of it. Sorry this happened though

It sucks but take a deep breath and call your insurance company the get the ball rolling with estimates. Find a body shop that works with the insurance company so all the work is warrantied and get them to work with you on the bumper. Expect to pay the difference between the stock bumper cover and crash bar and the cost of a plate bumper. Sucks black friday sales just ended.

He may get lucky, when they estimated the damage to my truck they valued it at around $2000. My truck didn't even look that bad.

On the lighter side, I just turned my OEM fog lights that I was no longer using into "rock lights"

Hella ghetto, but here you are:

I cut the tape holding the harness bundle here to give more slack for the connection and routed it through here
    20171128_175446.jpg
Then secured with three zipties here
