    Yes there is.
Need to replace the vvti assembly.
Pita to do. One mistake and you have bent valves or you need to pull the side of the motor to reset the timing if the chain skips. Camshafts need to be pulled.

Is this a normal rattle or will the engine detonate at some point?
    It's quite loud.

    Not normal.
Your pounding the vvti lock pin. I have not seen a failure yet however I do not know the results if it would happen. I do know if the pin bore wears it will give you a check engine light for timing retard or advance.

Is this a AR motor problem or to all VVTi motors? How much $ to replace assembly?

    Just a few years.
    I don’t know prices.
    I just fix em.
If I can remember I’ll get a price tomorrow.

I didn't even get the Prostate check in the 'big-un' 50th medical check - apparently for those without the hereditary indicators/higher risk factors of colon cancer, a simple blood-screen check suffices now.

    Evening all
That prep is the reason I have avoided it. Doctor threatened me this time.
Happy B day and welcome. I'm having problems with not knowing the answer to the first question. Are you the type that would put ketchup on a hot dog?
Good answers, I would expect no less from an Eagle Scout
    Lol
Retard is not a politically correct or snowflake approved word.
I would have other issues if there were stirrups.
Oh sure you give him good answers, you just tell me I'm an idiot.
