Lol. Wow. That dude has an impressive collection.
I met a new friend on YouTube last nite. He also has a rs530. We hit it off pretty good. Here's some of his collection although much less impressive than Scott's.

Never heard of the guy till you mentioned his name.
Seems everyone has some kind of beef or hatred for him. Sounds like a class act.

Getting nerdy here, but play them back to back, and you'll hear the difference. The Yamaha was a great deal for what it was, but it's not the same thing. Definitely a fun amp though. Assuming you messed w/ caps to get it closer to a SLO? Choke and preamp?

    Nerd talk over :)

I owned the SLO before as well. The lead channel on both sound exactly the same to me(when using the same cab). I sold the SLO because of the shared EQ. I have the schematics for both the SLO and Yamaha. I can't find differences in preamp or power amp section, besides having two EQ's. Yes the Yamaha is fully retrofitted to Mr. Soldano's design including that big choke. I wouldn't trade my Yamaha for another SLO.

That said the Bogner is for me. Way more versatile than anything else I've ever owned or played. Just lacks the reverb, too much tube awesomeness to fit it in there lol

Did you like the reverb in those yamaha's? Always seemed like it was an afterthought on those ones.

Glad the choke mod brought it to life. I almost wonder if those amps sound differs a lot by each one. I've played through a couple, never a consistent sound (or modded). Keep yours if it sounds great!

no the reverb isn't the best. I wish everything could have the Fender twin reverb lol. I'm using a Line 6 pedal that models reverbs and keep it on the twin model. It's ok... maybe best to keep at the end of the pedal chain.

I was always curious about the Soldano Space Box reverb. It looks like its the same size as a head though, and expensive.

That thing is nuts! First time I saw it was at Soldano, they were laughing at me and my confusion. Haha.

Just dropped the RS 440 and the 1300 off to get setups done. Gonna block the trem on both since I dont use them. These will be setup with heavy strings and be my only jazz, contemperary, blues guitars.
I should really start setting my guitars up but my guy is soooooo good.

I like him too. He's very opinionated and can come across as obnoxious, which is my many people don't like him. He toured with a bunch of well known acts in the country scene in the 80s and 90s. Now he sells guitar lessons online and makes videos for a living.

On and off since 2000. Never played music out of Bham. Always have done projects down in Seattle. That's where my gear and space is (that's not true, there's music crap everywhere I am...)

Just picked up this "2012" re issue "84" Kramer Beretta for a song!! $200.

There's only one thing this guitar is good for. And I found a use for the original Floyd Rose gold paperweight. "82" FRANKENSTRAT!!!

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Not to learn so much, but I love the band mode... You play, the whole band follows your lead.
