I can positively confirm that the BAMF 1/4" IFS skid is the shiznit.

 

85lb of overkill awesomeness.

 

I ain't trying to chubby up the taco "too much". Looking for a skid between 55-75lbs so 3/16 maybe the way i'll go. Surprisingly enough went home to STL this past weekend and even with the lift, bumper and 33's I got 20mgp. I'd like to keep that going if I can.

 

Did you have a tail wind the whole drive and actually drive the limits?!
Wish my 4 banger got those numbers but I can't stay out of the throttle haha

 

Trust me... I was just as surprised. Kept it around 73mph the whole tank got 20.07mpg. Shit a brick.

Got rear ended on 440 during rush hour today. It wasn't bad. No injury. Just some scratches on the bumper of my Saturn. But the lady that hit me, kept driving. It was during grid lock so it was pretty easy to get the tags and description of the vehicle. Called the police and they went to the address where the car was registered and found the vehicle with damage and blue paint from my car on the front. The lady ended up getting ticketed for hit and run and her insurance will be paying for my repairs, both of which I'm sure will lead to higher premiums for her. Sad part is, if she would have just stopped, I would have told her not to worry about it and we could have both been on our way.

Yes there are. Im just glad they got her. She basically just rolled into me. I get that accidents happen but have the decency to stop.

 

My 3/16" skid is fucked. It's only held on by the front 4 bolts because the skid bent and stripped the back 2 out. It's def done it's job. No way in hell I would go thinner. Thicker or a few gussets is the way to go. Aluminum for what we did the past weekend would've hurt more then helped. Aluminum saves weight for sure, it also creates false securities. The desert guys run aluminum skids. It's great for them. Not so much for us.

20mpg......? On a good day mine might get 14kpg.

 

Only that I can’t make holes in my floor board look as good as yours.

But for real, it's not an easy task. And only required for big tires and little caster. You saw that my tires still hit the cab mount because I extended the plate straight down but I also have 0 caster on pass side and .8 caster on driver side because I think my front end is bent.

My solution is a-arms moved 2" forward.
