If I do the seat belt mod like it is stated by the OP, does that also make the door open ding go away? If not how do I stop both the seat belt ding and the door open ding WITHOUT taking it back to the dealer. My ignition switch is a push button style.

I think that is BS that the dealer would not do it. The first service writer I talked to said they couldn't do it. The next service I went in for I talked to a different person, and he was hesitant at first, but then I showed him that page 598 of the owner's manual clearly states that it is a dealer offered option. I had them disable the chime for both front seats: driver's for when I go off-roading, and the passenger for my dog. The light on the dash still blinks though.

    Dealers are funny.

When I asked my dealer, they said "we can do it this time since you just bought it but any other time will be an added service at cost."

They didnt care about turning it off other than charging me later if I want to turn it back on lol

Yes. The red light should still flash after they turn off the chime. Mine does.

Huh??? If the red light is not blinking after the chime is disabled by the dealer, something is wrong. I think you said your's didn't blink, Kmev.

Yeah, never mind. I see your are the OP. The guy who destroyed his buckle. Nice going.

The driver side airbag stays on no matter what.
I have some 3-inch extenders that I've used to disable the chime and I noticed that whether or not those are plugged in, it determines if the airbag is on or off on the passenger side. Depending how I do it, either it performs as it should, or the passenger airbag is on when I'm the only one in the truck, or the airbag is off when there is a passenger. It just depends if it's plugged in or not when the truck is started and if there is weight on the seat.
Have you noticed the passenger airbag light on the dash after you did this mod? Just curious how that's worked.
    Thanks!

Yea Gary. Keep up by breaking your truck without knowing the implications. It's only "disabled" dude.

Your trying to make sense of it.

I always wear my seat belt while driving and I have turned off my chime via Carista BUT...

I HATE that the truck chimes if I don't buckle my belt before I hit the ignition. Totally first world problems but I can't stand machines dinging at me unnecessarily. I may have to do this mod.

OK, so the passenger airbag stayed off when I had a passenger. Reading the owner's manual more closely, it details that the passenger seat belt must be unbuckled prior to a passenger sitting in the seat. If the passenger seat belt is buckled BEFORE a passenger sits in the seat, the passenger airbag will not turn on (page 48 of the owner's manual). So, this is NOT a viable option for the passenger seat. Good catch, thanks.

I edited the original post to include this information.
