What are you guys mounting your tents on? Just got my tepui and tried mounting to my rhino rack pioneer platform and it doesn’t work.

I think I for sure want the annex. If nothing else for it being a good place to put duffel bags out of the weather and change easily before getting into the tent to sleep. Of course the annex means I am probably going to do a leitner or dissent bed rack to get the tent high enough for a annex and awning.

On a side note tonight is the first camping trip in the Tacoma! 20171125_185709.jpg

    I would say yes. 72” for 3.
I have the 23-0 Bundaberg and it’s been fantastic so far. I would definitely get the widest sleeping area for 3 people. Ours is 60” I think, and there is plenty of room for my wife and I plus gear and personal items but a third person would be cramped. Lots of room though in the annex for a cot/sleeping area, could even set up a hammock down there.

Hey guys, new to the RTT forum and just wanted to share my first pictures and had a couple questions. One being do you guys leave your tent on your truck most of the time? Thinking it would be a PITA to take on and off. And secondly, should I mount it mostly over camper or mostly over truck roof?
    Tent: Smittybilt Overlander XL.
    Camper: ARE Overlander V series
Roof racks: Bajarack front and rear flat racks with RTT flat plate attachments.
And hopefully ordering soon Smittybilt annex to match tent. 20171012_170848.jpg 20171128_192215.jpg 20171128_192148.jpg

FYI, Smittybilt currently does not have an annex for their XL tent. IT is rumored though that one may be in the works for next year sometime.

I don't have a RTT but you shouldn't mount anything to both the bed & cab. The bed & cab flex independently from each other & if you mount anything between the two it will get damaged more than likely. It could also damage your cap.

I have the same racks. Not sure of tent size, but I’d put it over the camper without any overhang to the cab. If you have to go over the cab a bit, make sure you have enough gap between cab rack and tent floor for body flex. Nice thing about the BajaRack on the camper is you can adjust the height if necessary to give you that gap.

That's funny because I read a thread saying it is available now and I also can order it. It's part number 2888 and it's $299. Right now 4 wheel parts and many other sites have it listed. Check it out dude!

Also thanks to the other guys about info on putting it over the cab. Hoping this works. I didn't take the flex into consideration before. It's a 72" length tent so hoping it will still fit. Just ordered AALs to help with the rear sag.

Good to know. I still cannot find it on their website but glad to know it's an option now

I would also recommend some bed stiffeners to help with the added weight. Several nice designs to choose from: At The Helm Fab, Rago Fab, and Total Chaos.

. Good idea. Thanks for the tip. Well crap I just went out and measured the rear camper rack and then the front roof rack and there is no way this tent is going to fit one independently. Again this is a 72" length and I didn't take flex into consideration. Looks like I might have to sell this one and get a shorter one maybe?
