We are so very thankful he's ok. @cedar park was there when it happened(I was at camp)and from what they say happened there was no chance of really saving it once it started burning. He had a fire extinguisher but it malfunctioned but had it worked I'm not sure it would have turned out much differently.

 

He has State Farm. If they cover this(which it looks like they will) I'm going to switch my 4runner to them immediately.

I'm a firm believer if a fire starts that isn't just trash in the car, let it go. If there's no immediate danger close by anyway. I'd rather it all be gone then deal with potential issues later.

Have seen a fire crew ask a car owner at a wreck once if they wanted it put out or let it go. They let it burn while having hose at the ready.

 

It would hurt me to watch my Runner burn but if it happened I would let it go. I know that once it goes up there would be so much work to try and get it back to normal that I would probably never feel the same about it again.

 

Glad he made it out without serious injury.

 

So crazy how quickly that stuff happens. Just struck me that keeping my wallet in the center console while driving is a bad idea. Better to have it on my body if I need to get out in a hurry. I just hate sitting on it.

 

Yeah he had just put it in his pocket because it kept falling out of the door along with his cell phone. So he's lucky he doesn't have to replace all of that.

 

So am I. First thing I thought was that insurance would just laugh at this one...

Me and snorks may plan a wolf caves trip or k2 trip for our birthday weekend. You down? End of January. Nothing set in stone yet.

 

Lets do K2, i've only been once (briefly) and been to Wolf Caves three times. End of January classes will be kickin' again so not sure. Maybe I could borrow a trailer and just pull the Taco down, since i'm driving the damn thing to Yosemite earlier that month

 

We just wanna find a good place to wheel sketchy shit at and see how close we can get to flopping our shit basically lol. Tired of being on 4 wheels all the time.
