I have a 18 Tacoma with a pro grill (from China...) it came with a section to install the safety sensor, everything worked and fit perfect but it leaves the sensor with a small area of no protection. The stock emblem which seems to be just hard plastic does protect it a little. Does anyone know if they make a pro grill with a protected section for the sensor or if I can install something to protect or does it even need to be protected? Thanks

I am just speaking from what we have on our dealership lot right now. It was conformed the 18's are to have safety sense but not all of them that have arrived have come with it.

Either way, anybody going to buy a 2018 Tacoma and wants to lift it. even if its just a leveling kit... needs to make sure their dealership wont try to void their warranty by doing so. Every truck I have lifted so far has required signed consent by the customer understanding that by lifting the truck, it changes the height of the truck but the safety sense package doesn't automatically calibrate for that so it has the potential to not work correctly.

We still lift them but the customer has to understand exactly what is happening when we do so. Kinda dicey if you dont have everything in writing.

I asked the dealer this question, and they had no answer. It seems obvious to me, but haven't tried it myself so don't know. Common sense would tell me that dealer should have all the answers. Otherwise, I could just buy the truck on line from Amazon and have it shipped free to my house with Prime shipping.

I'm still confused on how all this is going to play out. TW seems to know more than the dealers do at the moment.

You've received 2018's without TSS installed? Interesting...

This is the case with most vehicles. The consumer does more research because they have more invested in it. The salespersons just move vehicles from the lot. Every once in a while you get a salesman that is interested in a particular vehicle and they know about it, but for the most part they are just bodies to do paperwork.

In a round about way this is what my local dealer told me as well, but they won't do the lift. I have to take it someplace else. They said they are relying are on third parties to come up with a solution b/c Toyota isn't going to authorize dealers to do it. They don't want their trucks altered.

I wonder if someone like @SDHQ OFFROAD is going to come up with a solution?

You can only choose options that are being built at this time in your area. Change your zip code and you'll see other options or wait for another month and see what's being built at that time. Here in the pacific northwest there are no premium packages for the sport. But we know that the premium package is an option. They are just not being built yet.

A/T have a push button. The M/T have an old school key (I believe).

I was at Titus Will on Sunday and didn't see any 18's on their lot. Maybe they were hiding them?

I have seem some build sheets that have the 18's with out the TSS though. Edit: I looked through some of the builds. They all have TSS as far as I can tell.

I think Jordan has the most up to date and accurate information.

Maybe this has been answered, yet I cannot find it....Will the 18’ OR with MT be available with the premium package? I currently have an 18’ on order due to be delivered between 12/9 to 12/13 and requested the premium package, yet when I try and build it on the website, it does not seem to be available. I’m in the PNW (yeah, I know) and wonder if I’m getting one the first premium packaged OR’s in this area in Cement? My dealer also has told me that he does not have the VIN yet, which I’m calling BS on....

I picked up my 2018 Cement TRD Off-road 4WD on Good Friday. Asked for the Costco price. Got $600 over invoice. Happy with my deal. And this was in San Diego Ca.

that Tacoma looks to have the blacked out lettering? is this part of the "black out package"? or is that just the way the sun is hitting the truck/ shadows?
