Well, E.J. has a better chance of having dinner with me tonight than y'all. But I'm not driving 5 hours up there and I'm sure neither is he down here. Much less the 12 it would take to get to H-town.

You sound like the type that can make up a recipe on the fly. I'm the opposite - I have to follow a recipe exactly - I'm not a natural when it comes to cooking. lol I can follow a recipe like a champ though.

 

Well, Nick (Dirty Deeds) told me a woman's place is in the kitchen so I'm sure he'd tell you to get back in there and start trying stuff without a recipe.

That I would at least try. Every time I have eaten brussel sprouts they have been really bitter and nasty. That's why I don't like them

 

On a serious note though that's how I learned. I just got in there and started doing stuff. You begin to learn as you go what spices you like and what goes in stuff or makes it taste how you like. I rarely use a recipe anymore.

 

My tongue is in my mouth but bacon pie seems good. Like make a weave on top of some kind of casserole with bacon. Maybe even breakfast. Have hash browns, eggs and some good cheese all mixed up and then do the bacon over the top.

 

I make up pretty much everything we eat. When I do follow a recipe I tweak it to accommodate our tastes.

Spinach artichoke chicken bake. Basically spinach artichoke dip with chicken chunks. I added extra cheese too because I like cheese.

 

I may need to try this. Maybe a Quiche with bacon topping like that.
