Yeah we could make it work. Do you have a place to keep your truck off the street while we work on it? Not sure if it's obvious or not to you, but you'll need to get an alignment.
    Here's some crib notes:

I could empty out a side of my garage but to be honest working on the truck would be tight. We'd have to pull the truck out and flip it around to work on the other side, not a big deal... I think? My driveway and street arent flat at all so can't work on that. I might be able to convince a friend to let us use his garage it's a lot wider; or I could drive over to you whatever works. Ya I know I need an alignment after, thanks for the reminder though, after we figure out a day to do the swap I'll make an appointment at Firestone for the following day.
Want the specs on the parts?

Sure, what coilovers did you get? It's better to have the truck somewhere it can be left for a few hours or overnight in case something pops up unexpectedly.

Do you think we should preload them before installing or do it on the truck? That's the one thing I've never done before - just installed coilovers with preload already set. @Nicklovin how much lift are you looking to get? What coils do you want to use - the 550 or 650lbs?

I seem to not be getting alerts for my own thread - lame. lol

I would put the shorter springs on, those are the 650 lbf. ones. about 1/16" on the passenger one and about 1/4" on the driver one. that should sit about 50/50 in the travel if there isnt a heavy front bumper.

So you're saying put on the 550lb springs at the preload you mentioned?

the 650 ones, the shorter pair

the longer set is 500lb, it sits below halfway about 40/60

My bad I only saw the ones on it. The pic Nick posted says that the 650lb springs are already on it though? I don't think that was the actual pic at the time of sale since it said they were still on the truck when the ad was made. :notsure:

couldnt say. that pic is from when i sold them awhile ago and they had the softer springs installed, i thought the tool cart looked familiar and its a cropped pic of what i sent to the guy i sold them to.

lol I see. Yeah I was just going off of what was written. What did the 550lb springs ride like - did you test them out against the 650 lb springs?

They're already set at 3 inches of lift, to be honest I was thinking of lowering them a bit to lower the center of gravity slightly. All my friends want me to keep at 3 inches of lift, they love the bro lean.... beach people hahaha. Oh hey I forget to mention with everything going on, Itaro volunteered to help me out install everything over at his place on the 19th next month. So I won't have to bother you with that:p, worked out too since I could get the day off from work to have the whole day to install.
:anonymous:..... I just hope I dont get called back for jury duty on that tuesday... I'm going in the day before:fingerscrossed::goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:
The 650s are on them right now, planning on keeping those on since they'll help me keep the truck under control better at speed. Better for my madman style off roading hahaha

are you 4x4 ? In all honestly it lifted me a little past3" because 2wd but.. I stayed under the max reccomended inches to turn on the collar I think it was like 2.3 of thread exposed and I stayed around 2 or 2.1 still rode like a dream, especially for our type of driving. Sorry about the king box too man lmao it's all I had

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I'll be the odd man out @Nicklovin, set it closer to 2.25 or 2.5 save yourself the extra strain and lack of any downtravel. Ride is much nicer, COG is lower, alignments are easier. Basically the only downside is less ground clearance but the Taco already has a lot of that stock compared to any other truck on the market.

2wd, good info to know. What kind of wheeling do you usually do anyways? Oh it's totally fine made me laugh, also allowed me to mess with the oc thread for a bit leading them to believe I bought new kings :devil:
You see that's what I was thinking originally, a lack of down travel but nobody else brought it up so I thought I was incorrect or something in that kind of thinking. Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking of that, a loss of ground clearance isn't a big deal to me given my style of wheeling. The big thing for me there is travel and COG especially with all the madman style go fast wheeling I do:anonymous:.

Thanks for all the info, both of you.. and @Dalandser , I've been learning a lot and after the suspension swap the taco is going to be like a whole new truck to me. Heck is already is now... up to few months ago I was riding on blown & sagged front suspension, swapped to some free toytecs with spacers, truck sits 5 inches higher in the front than it did with the blown suspension that I became use too:rofl:... can't wait to see how I do with the icons :D:cool:
Excuse my wayyy too lengthy post

That's what this site is about - making stuff (hopefully) better and talking about it lol. I bet it will ride like a champ compared to what the last two setups have been!
