I just checked mine, and I have codes P0420, P0125, and P1130. I ran my truck for about a month with the P0420 code until yesterday, that's when I noticed P0125 and P1130. I bought an O2 sensor (upstream bank 1, w/ California emission) which came out to around 83.00 dollars... any suggestions on what else I should look into after the O2 replacement?

The P0420 and P1130 codes very possibly will be taken care of with the new upstream A/F ratio sensor you ordered. The P0125 will prolly require a little troubleshooting. Two scenarios come to my mind, thermostat not closing and so the coolant never quite gets hot enough or the coolant temp sensor bit the dust. I've wrenched on quite a few Yotas and haven't ever come across that DTC.

Make sure you got/installed Air fuel sensor and not O2 sensor. They are different and usually cost much more than $83.
For P0125 more than likely thermostat stuck open as mentioned.

You want the Denso A/F ratio sensor. It's on Amazon for like 90 bucks or so.

Not all MY 2000 are A/F sensors. There are narrow band trucks out there. Depends on the mfg. date and if it is a Cali. or Fed.

Here we go. I swapped out my upstream bank 1 sensor this morning with this: 47577D92-303C-430F-9C7A-B52630609DFF.jpg. When I pulled out the old sensor, this is the part number that was on it: F10EF65D-5892-4ADD-BD25-F91120E9B2AA.jpg. After going online to search this part number, nothing comes up... :notsure:... anyways, not sure how many miles I need to drive on the new sensor so see if the check engine light comes on... anyone know ?

Without actually looking into it, I'd guess the original part number has been superceded....
Wait, you bought the 'Denso' part without the Toyota insignia and mark up. So yeah that's the correct part.
You should know in a couple/few days of driving if the new AF sensor takes care of your issue.

It shouldn't take too long for A/F monitor to run. Either of 3 things will happen.
It will run test and pass if everything good.
It will run test and fail and after 2 trips will set MIL (malfunction indicator light).
Or if there is another problem causing test to never run ( for example - stuck open thermostat causing motor to not get up to proper temp).
So if you have access to a obd2 scanner or hand held unit just plug it in and check
O2 monitor readiness. If complete and no MIL it's fixed.

All right guys… I just replaced my air/fuel sensor bank one before the cat… After resetting the check engine light, it came back on after 62 miles… Same code as before P0420… Dammit not sure what to do now...

Rear one is the the one that monitors convertor. Front A/F sensor controls engine fuel ratio.

Any news on this one? I have a 97 with the 2.7 thats got the P0420 code. I took both the o2 sensors off and cleaned tham and replaced the gaskets. That hasn't produced any results yet. Id like to try and nail down if it was one or the other before I start buying parts

P0420 is usually a code for the catalytic converter I’ve had it for about 3 years now. I usually clear it and it’ll take a while before coming back. Cats aren’t cheap from what I’ve seen unless it’s not oem
