Okay how do I get started with this? I tried getting into coin base but it wants all kinds of photo documentation but the website won't take the photo.

If I am not mistaken ETH/BTC is just a chart showing the price of ETH in comparison to the price of BTC. When that value goes down it just means that the price of BTC is going up faster than the price of ETH.

I think the issues with creating accounts is due to the exponentially growing desire to want to get in. I have seen, just on TW, how many people are trying to get in lately. The exchanges like CB, GDAX, etc are simply being bombarded with activity, so it slowed waaaayyy down.

Just be patient and keep trying.

Also, when making a purchase, it is possible it won't go through, and may take a couple tries.

Did the buy go through as an instant buy or is it a pending buy where the LTC is not in your account, you just did the purchase?

Don't put in more than you can afford to lose, if you are fine loosing $500, then that is your max, but if you are find throwing in $2000 to potentially lose, then more power to you.

My exact thoughts. I just hate the thought of putting my personal info into some strange company who you can't get any physical contact with.
But then I'm also really wanting to get in because I don't want to be the one kicking my self later for not getting in before it gets good.

 

I have ripple. I purchased Litecoin on coinbase and then transferred it to bittrex. From Bittrex I was able to trade the Litecoin for Ripple.

 

I've been into crypto since December 2016. I've invested 15k to date and I currently have 100k through that investment. My suggestion if anyone cares is do the verification thing (DL and pic) through Coinbase, purchase however much ETH or BTC you are comfortable with and then transfer it to another exchange such as Bittrex or Binance. Coinbase just lost a court battle yesterday that they are handing over customers info that did more than 20k in a single transaction from 2013-2015. The crypto that is going to be doing the best in the next 90 days is IOTA (which is on Binance), Monero, and possibly XRP. The thing you don't want to do is wait until next year, youll be kicking yourself. The ones that are a nice long term investment are BTC, ETH, and DASH. For making some money in the short term its the 3 I mentioned but of course do at your own risk. I follow the news daily and am always watching to sell or buy. The biggest thing I can say is don't be emotional about your trading. Just be patient.

 

You set it up through Coinbase.com. However, unless they changed it in the last couple months, you don't need to upload information such as DL and pic, etc if you do less than like $1000 per week. The verification stuff is only if you want to do large amounts of buying/selling.
