Hey Yota just got off phone with the manufacturer smittybilt and part 2888 is in fact the correct annex for the XL. So now to order one for me. :bananadance:

    http://www.smittybilt.com/overlander-tent-and-awning.html
If you read here 2788 is the annex for the regular Overlander tent. And again, after speaking with smittybilt directly today the 2888 is the annex to fit the overlander XL which they didn't have about 6 months ago and is not listed yet on their site.

Plenty mods on many vehicles since 1982. Current: 15 Tacoma 4X4 V6 TRD OR Access Cab Pyrite Mica- Icon full stage 7, All-Pro APEX sliders & rear Expedition Springs + custom Tampa Springs leaf spring upgrades, Timbren bump stops, u-bolt flip, Road Armor front stealth winch bumper & rear steel, Warn Vr 8000, Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75/r16, Off Grid Engineering Dual Battery system, SPod 6 switch, 2 pairs Rigid D2 spot & flood in bumper, ARE Expedition Cap, bedglide,Tru Cool 45K GVW add on transmission cooler, Re-gear to 4.56, rigid rear bumper floods, scan guage II, rigid ditch lights. full size spare on matching factory wheel, seat mods/insert, CB w/magnet mount.
The Annex room for the 23-0 Bundaberg has some oval slots near where the side that has the rubber in the slot attachment, attaches to the rear top side of the annex. The short side 2" black nylon strap has a double ring that secures one of the four top straps that go over the exterior transport cover and can be used to anchor one end of the hammock through the oval slot in the top corner of the room. Then all you have to do is decide which way you want to face and run a loop with carabineer over the opposite end of the roof top tent floor deck, or install a bracket. This floor area is the top side when closed so no problem. Also....you can use the "old" style hammock with the frame. I tried to use the smaller tie down straps on both sides of the tent floor but needed longer than the 64"'s. If the tent was 76" wide, this probably would have worked but I'd have had to orient the tent in a different direction on the truck. The room is shaped so that it's a lot wider at the base than at the roof so the frame hammock worked great too. It tucked up along one side of the room and we could still access the door, ladder, table, etc.

This is my struggle. The tent ends up staying on the truck all the time and killing my MPGs. I'm house hunting right now and one of my requirements is a place to hook up a hoist to take off the rack and tent at the same time.

For those of you worried about the security of your tents, Tepui now has Security nuts for mounting your tent. Some of you may have seen these already. They're currently sold out but keep an eye on the site for availability.

@Box Rocket, I meant to get some of those during the Black Friday sale but I forgot until a day or two in and they were already sold out. Will have to keep an eye out, or I've been looking into other options too

@Box Rocket - Cool idea, but for those with limited area between the truck/RTT, you may want to consider offering a wrench like the one used for right angle grinders [IMG]

Yeah man some more position reinforcement here. I run the Mt. Rainier (long as shit) on a mid-height BAMF bed rack and am really enjoying the extra length over the spare. My tent sits about 5" above the roof line, but not over it. Indirect added bonus of theft/rain protection for camping gear in the back. (And easier to unzip without getting on the roof) See pic attached

Oh yeah thanks for the input. Never thought of the added bonus of have room both in the back and even possible the front to get to the zippers. I have to still hopefully get time this weekend to install tent and possibly my add a leafs to my bp-51 setup due to the added weight.

    I know that rack! :anonymous:

I just ordered the normal height BAMF rack. I needed the height for my current tent. I want the top of the tent to be the same height as my Prinsu. I also updated my spare tire mount on the swingout, from Bruteforcefab, to the adjustable height one. So if the tent touches the tire when I get the new rack in, then I can just lower the spare a little bit.
