What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Got my Plano box from Academy & Husky Low profile from Black Friday. Work great under the new topper.

the difference a quick wash makes (and yes i know i still have to plasti dip the Tacoma badge but its getting to cold out). Krown and winter tires on this weekend

 

Santa stopped by last night to bring some goodies. Now I just need to decide when I'm doing the install...

Brown Santa should be stopping by my house tomorrow dropping off the first piece of my wrap.

 

Installed some bilstein 5100 on stock springs up front and bilstein 5125 out back. Ride much better than stock as I like a more planted feel. It doesn't float at highways speeds or dip much on fast corners. Curious how it will handle off road but I'm very pleased with this set up and will rock this foe the next couple years until I'm done with school. Haven't decided what tire to go with or what size but I've got about 30k miles to decide that. Unless I just find a bangin deal I can't pass up.

Why the mod??? Curious because my roof is fading and peeling BAD!!! Clear is peeling and just look crappy. The hood is doing it too but not as bad yet. I've entertained the idea of painting my roof black just because someday it will be covered by a roof rack and tent.

 

2 weeks ago....I backed my truck into the carport with my bike still on the bed rack

Its been in the shop all week being repaired

I had them paint the roof gloss black instead of trying to paint match/blend the 040

I think it came out sweet!

 

Fail! But it happens man. It definitely looks good for sure. May sway me to join in hehehe

That sucks, but now you have a cool mod with a story

The 5125s are extended length as compared to stock, be careful of brakes lines at full droop and bottoming out the shocks when on the bump stops. Not sure they are a good fit for stock springs. Might be good to see how much travel is left when close to bump stop.

 

Appreciate the info. I will keep an eye out for these and may cycle the suspension to see what happens.

 

In the process of CMC’ing my brand new frame to clear my bro tire setup.

Guess I’ll have to weld a plate in there later...
