    Lease on my truck is up in a couple weeks. Plan has been to buy it out after the entire time, just wanted to keep my costs lower initially since we had just bought our first house and was hemorrhaging cash.

    Went to call my sales rep to get the paperwork going, turns out he's no longer there. So I email the Sales Manager saying I wanted to buy my truck post lease and wanted to come in Saturday morning and asked if we could start some of the paperwork now so I didn't have to be there for hours. Responded saying 'it's now a bit of a process going through a dealer to purchase a leased vehicle, can you call me tomorrow'. My first reaction was wtf does that mean. And now am thinking its all a sales tactic to get me into another lease or vehicle. I deal with Sales reps all day everyday at work, it's a pain in the ass having to deal with them outside of work too.

    Granted, I haven't done this before. But my understanding was after the lease its as simple as either purchasing or financing for the residual amount just as when you agree upon a price of a vehicle and then buy/finance it. Unless I'm completely off the mark on this one and everything I researched a few years ago was wrong...
