hmm maybe the LCE header will make a difference, I seriously doubt it will but I guess I should start looking at gears.

An LCT header will help a bit... but the true fix is the regearing issue, THEN header :)

Regearing will show a way more noticeable difference compared to headers. Night and Day Bro.

Oh for sure, the header is already on the way so it will be interesting to what it will do with my current setup. I want to regear and install a locker in the future.

I bought the LCE header used so I got it for a good deal. But I agree, I would love to do a turbo setup in the future.

Finally got my ebay lift, new Bilsteins, and 235/75R15 snow tires installed over the holiday weekend. It definitely makes if look and feel more like a real truck now. (Before and After below)

One thing worth mentioning is that I bought a U-bolt kit from Fat Bob's that said it was typically used for lifts on 05+ 5lugs, but it did not fit. The U-bolts have 3 1/2" diameter, but it looks like my axle is only 3". Luckily, the original U-bolts barely still fit with the AAL. I am trying to see if Fat Bob's will let me return them.

The ones I just sent back (no) or the original ones (barely fitting)?

well both, its odd that they sent the wrong ones since 5 lug are very specific.

I don't have a pic of the one's I sent back, but they would have been very loose on the axle and besides didn't fit into the holes on the bottom plate. They looked like they were about 1/2" too wide. Maybe its because I have a 7.5" differential? Below is a picture of my bottom plate now, and yes, I realized after taking this that I need to find longer replacements and swap them out ASAP.

Yep, that is not good. In aviation it is mandatory to have 2-3 threads showing.

I got my ubolts from fat bobs but they rused quick. Your local auto parts store should carry a set.

In that case, I will try to keep my truck from going airborne. Seriously though, I am having trouble finding a u-bolts the right size. I measured the stock ones on the truck and it looks like they have about an 3-1/4" inside diameter. Does that sound right?

I would measure the distance between the pass through holes in the rear shock mount plates. U-bolts can flex to different diameters but the distance between the holes will be the same. I had to bend my Fat Bob U-bolts in a bit to make the U-bolt pass through the plate.

Did you torque those U-bolts nuts down to spec at least?

Yes, I torqued them to spec.

Funny thing is, I had an alignment done this morning. Dropped the truck off and went to breakfast. I kept expecting a call to tell me that my u-bolts were unsafe, but they didn't say boo about it. I had tried to find some locally yesterday, but struck out. I guess I will order them from Fat Bob's again once I get a chance to crawl under and triple check the size.
