They should change the name of this thread to “The 140.00 China Syndrome!”

Can someone tag me in the post on how to actually put this grill on? I have it off the truck, but just not sure which tabs to push off and if the small philips screws need to be taken off too. Thanks!

8 screws will be removed from the outer grille frame. All tabs will get pushed out. Just search on youtube there are several.

Maybe those grills from China are from Malaysian factory under subcontract. Now Malaysia factory noticed this sells good & made own post for sale lmao

My beloved Post Lady redelivered a few hours later!

Got the one piece design from Motorfanclub, all black plastic. No broken tabs. The back edges have little remnants of plastic here and there but nothing too noticeable. One that was behind the "O" I just pulled off. The finish is flawless. Overall no complaints.

I hope I never have to swap grilles again. I forgot how much of a hassle it is to get all those tabs off the original.

Now on to see how it holds up. Not bad for $140.

Sorry for the picture heavy post!

I just ordered one. Fuck it, my spray paint isn't holding up to rock chips very well and I'm tired of looking at a black cheese grader. I'd hate to be one of the guys that paid $450 or whatever before these came out. If Toyota wasn't considering a redesign before, they might be now.

Ordered mine on the 10th. Arrived in Chicago yesterday and delivered to me outside Nashville this afternoon. Fast once it hits the US

However, mine was poorly packaged and the box was crushed. Had three broken tabs (two on one end and one on the other). No other defects seen. It was the once piece grille.

Emailed Motorfansclub to see if he will send a replacement and return shipping label.

Just and FYI to all of you ordering these grill’s. I’m afraid we are going to see and here more posts like the one above.

Keep in mind the time of year it is right now. Deliveries are going to be slower and A LOT less care will be taken with your package. UPS, Fed X and USPS just sling shit around this time of year.

Finally received mine on the 28th. Would've had it a day sooner but USPS likes to require a signature for all packages delivered this time of year (made it a little frustrating). Ordered from motorfansclub-it on ebay and the quality is great, every bit as good or better than the stock grille I pulled off. Mine is constructed of black plastic (not painted) and came as the two piece model. Best $140 I've ever wasted on a piece of plastic!
I forgot to add: the existing grille was a bit more of a pita than I expected to remove. All in all the swap took me about 30 minutes.

Anyone here “tried” a real OEM grill? I’m curious about a side by side look and feel. I get it the aftermarkets look cool, I’m curious if they are stamped with a part number or appear to be part of the production stream, or are they just molded dupes? I’m not dissing aftermarkets, I just want to hear some actual critique of them., ideally from someone who has seen the real thing too.

Earlier in the thread folk were comparing and apparently the plastic behind the letters appeared to be thicker on the OEM. Having just gotten the faux grille, I'm now looking forward to seeing how they compare after 6-12 months from now.

If it helps anyone attached is my label. My seller was areyoushop-a. It wouldnt surprise me if all of the other grilles out there are coming from the same address and or name. It's no secret that many of the ebay sellers are one in the same.

Note that the value of the fake grille is $50 from this particular seller. My box was in great shape and everything was packed carefully.
