They are great starting points I think for sure. Cool to add to them as well.

Same. Glad i got a relentless DIY while he still sold them. They are probably one of the "slimmest" designs so far.

I think id rather risk going off the road and avoiding collision with one of them. Probably have better chances of surviving that way too...

I really like Austin's bumper. Did you ever see it in person? Really nice. @alee891

Or something like Timmy had. Was a pretty nice hybrid design though I don't think strong enough. If something hit it.

Shall see what I can do. Not in any rush really..yet.

    Rather fix frank first haha

Since we have a little fab talk going in here. I've been think about upgrading from my 140 and picking up a new welder while some of the rebates are still happening this year. The multi-process units have me intrigued with their added versatility with minimal cost increase. Would be handy to have a machine light enough with stick capabilities to build corrals, and do equipment repairs in the field. Will mostly be doing some fab in the garage though. Torn between these two options. Obviously Miller is tried and true, but the Esab seems better equipped for the money (comes with tig torch and pedal.)
@3378jakesr5 @Blackdawg or anyone else with any opinions?

I mean really both of those machines will do it all and have a good rep. So I would go with what I get most of for the money. Also I like the yellow :)

I'd go for miller. Higher amperage. Better tig setup in the long run if that's something your into.

I believe that most of the multi process welders are DC only so not able to weld aluminum. Possibly could if you wanted to use He or He/Ar mix (It is expensive), even with the He there might not be enough amps available to do Al of much thickness.

I had a job a few years back making some railings for a trailer where I got to use a MM215 (sort of a guess, might have been the MM200). I used C25, straight CO2 and flux core. Dialed in per the machine settings and could not discern much difference in welding, spatter (not much) bead appearance. YMMV

Have read good reviews on the ESAB multi's.

    Miller, hands down

I have killed a 180 dual lincon already and use a miller 211 now. I know you are not thinking that you would weld that much but ive learned that buying once and crying once is a lot better then buying what i think will work and replacing later :anonymous:

Buy it from a welding shop if you can and dont look back, the millers customer service is also amazing. You would have a great life long welder with it.

I haven’t had a TW post notification in yeeeaaaarrrrrs. Jake did do a good job on that bumper, tho it was a friggin pig. In hindsight I would have went 3/16 to shave some weight... but the entire rig was heavy as hell so that’s just a small adjustment to an overall fat ol’ bitch.
