Has anyone made one for their tacoma yet? i mean i sure someone has but i was wondering what kind of metal did you use and the thinkness? I figured i would just use mild steel 14 gauge. Its thick enough to do the job and still look good. I mean anything metal is better than the plastic bumper(IMO). 14 isnt to think so it would probably cut back on weight compared to a ARB bumper.;)

o wow that is pretty thick, well at least the 1/4. how much do you think it ways? i was going to also try and cut back on the material needed to for it so that is why i wanted to use something a little bit thinner.

yeah I have a winch in the bumper. All the metal used was around my house, got bored one weekend and made a bumper. :yay:
I used 1/4" where the winch was going. Haven't weighed the bumper but I imagine its quite a bit.

yea there you go, so i went to the metal yard and for 14 gauge metal a sheet that is 8x4 is going for about 60 bucks. which is pretty cheap, it would be plenty enough for it. but i was looking and they also had alumnuim for about the same price. i saw only one other person on the forum that made a bumper out of alumunim, i would if it would withstand just like the mild steel?

nasty dent on driver's side bed panel, shabby seats, cigarette burned interior roof, missing berf bar pad, cracked rain visor, removed hood scoop, unmentionable stain on back bench?
I have some ideas to fab one up after work slows down this summer. The only thing I was wondering was what did you do with your turn signals?

I have LED turn signals I also hooked up the parking lights, which are also LED, to the turn signal so it looks like this with my parking lights on...

Turn signals are the lights in the bumper.
