Good photos, I never got to actually watch the process.

Hope the feller removed the spare, as well.

I used to use Krown, but now i use Rust Check exclusively, becuase they have a thicker coating which doesn't drip. Krown was started by guys that left Rust Check many years ago. They are both good.

its a pretty cool line of work. Theres only one guy that does the krown at this particular shop. He said the company comes out several times a year to observe and update him. Hes got his own garage bay/building to work in all day. I wonder what the pay is.

I got mine locked in at 139.00 and started doing it last year, the frame still looks great. It goes in Thursday for the second year application. It is supposed to be raining that day, any opinions, or ideas if they can treat the frame when it is wet, or will they have a process to dry it ? I have been fluid filming my 07 for a couple years now, bought it used in 2011 and it just failed the frame test and is scheduled for a new one. I may be applying too much to the truck, as a year later if I go on any type of incline, that shit drips onto something(exhaust/muffler) and my truck smells like a Burger King drive thru. Anyone else ever notice an odor from it ?

fluid film stinks! Especially the first few days if you get any near the exhaust. I smelt some krown burning off on the way home from getting it done yesterday. Its gone now. Regarding the weather, it says right on krowns site that it can be applied in any weather.

Wow great thread! I live in Lancaster so mechanicsburg isn't that far for me. Do you guys think it'll work on a frame with some surface rust? I just bought the truck (2006 prerunner) used about a month ago but I want it to last a long time.

It would keep the rust from getting worse.

Just started to read this thread to convince myself to go with Krown again...for anyone wondering, I bought an 05 trd OR 5 years ago...2nd owner. truck had been Krowned once. I Krowned it once after getting it in 2010, then I would just buy 2 cans of T40 (what Krown uses) and apply it myself while the truck was on a hoist getting snow tires every fall. When I got my Toyota frame re-call appt. the mechanic said my truck was "the best one he had seen" and he was replacing entire frames on 08's and 09's! So the shit works!
I just bought another Taco (2016 TRD OR) and I am loathe to get holes drilled in it, but I think I will...my '05 has no rust, looks mint and is now for sale.
    :)
Getting my new ride tomorrow, so I guess I will have to update my profile...too bad my list of mods will have to begin anew...$igh...$$$

I hated to get mine drilled too, but I got over it quickly. If you are going to do it, may as well do it right.

Another year another Krown treatment today(2nd). Very curious to see how the truck looks after 7 or 8 years. I have a 2014 Tacoma and have no hopes that Toyota did anything different with this years frame than in the years past. I see where they are up to 2010 for rust problems....hoping that Krown does the job:fingerscrossed:. Love the truck and would like to keep it for another 10 years.....we shall see.

Had mine done yesterday. I've been locked in at 100.00, and always pick up a spray can for touching up higher traffic areas where it wears more quickly. Can costs under 10 bucks....
