I visited a city about 1.5 hours away the other week and they had a Harbor Freight there. First time I've been in one. My fiancee had a $25 off coupon so I picked up a 3 ton low-profile jack with rapid pump for like $75!!! Even without the discount it's hecka cheap. I've never used a jack with rapid pump before and man... another game changer. Imma put a link to it in my original post.

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best grease gun to buy. I've seen where one person liked the Lincoln brand and another indicated "pistol grip", but other than that the info seems rather sparse.

I've read reviews on various types sold at Sears and there are horror stories with threaded caps blowing out, etc...

I'm looking for a manual pump type that will last a long time. I'm not interested in an air pump type.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I’d encourage you to rethink not going with the air grease pump. The initial blast is much more you can get from a hand pump and with a flexible hose and quick clip
type fitting connector, you’ll get the job done in a fraction of the time. Time is money...
Go to Amazon and pick out the highest reviewed within your price range (assuming you have a compressor, if not, nevermind....)

Yeah...I don't have a compressor. I bet it works like dream though.

Cabin air filter, seen a thread on a washable filter from Home Depot that works ( I have not done this yet)

I stock up on oil and grease when it’s on sale

I do my own under coating fluid film and princess Auto under coating gun.

I put anti seize on almost everything live in the rust belt

I shop around for lifetime parts that are greasable such as U joints and ball joints tie rod ends

I go to the parts u pick for some parts, save every nut and bolt from parts I remove is taken and thrown into the Tacoma bolt bin, pull fuses bulbs relays for bin also

I keep track of everything spent, changed, store and invoice # date and km in a excel file. Using this I can try and forecast up coming repair such as brakes

Shop online but also make friends at local parts store as a repet customer gets better service price, small benefits

    Buy quality lifetime parts

    Download the free shop manual

Learn how to fix things yourself

Join tacoma related sites such as this one for tech questions

Start a local face book group for Toyota trucks, new friends , knowledge, help, tools, trail rides, swap parts.

Buy items used , just bought a light bar for $50 bit of clean up and paint

I have a Princess auto Canada's harbor freight equivalent grease gun that has two changeable heads one for hand pump and the second for a air hook up. I have never used the air head as i find myself greasing everything from trailer bearing buddies to u joints to snowmobiles everywhere from in the garage, in the street, driveway. having to run a air hose and set up compressor to do this would be a nightmare.

the cordless air grease gun would be a good investment, but if your only doing maintenance on your own trucks i would stick to the hand pump.

Dad was a commercial aircraft mechanic for 38 years and he taught me a lot about wrenches and machines. I can't imagine how much money I have saved doing my own work... oil & filter changes, trans fluid & filter changes, spark plugs, coolant/Tstat/hoses/belts, MAF & TB cleaning, etc. Deals... I pay about $4 apiece for WIX oil filters at Rock Auto and due to their shipping charges I save up my purchases and buy a lot at one time from that place. (Check out Rock Auto closeout specials, but watch for date codes for old inventory.) Mobil 1 oil at Walmart is $24 per 5 quart jug, with Mobil 1 $10 annual rebates it comes out insanely cheap for name brand full synthetic.
P.S. Fumoto valve saves you money, LOL :D How much are you paying for drain plug gaskets?
