You may be referring to the injector self cleaning cycle. Its more of a diesel injector tick sound to me though.

I loaded the 1.02C Shift C tune, and there is no difference in the hesitation. I did not expect there to be; the stock tune also has the hesitation when going WOT from a stop (as when pulling out into traffic). I don't know if this is from the shifting algorithm, or something else in the engine.

Who goes WOT from a standstill anyway? You're just asking for wheelspin or TC pulling all power.

I do and the truck should not fall on it’s face when you do.

Do you also turn TC off every time you drive it?

It's not that you necessarily want too go WOT it's just a major safety issue when it doesn't give instant response...
A few weeks ago sitting at a stop light I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a van coming in hot and knew he wasn't going to stop in time so my reflex was to stab the gas to get out of the way.
My truck stumbled and hesitated for what seemed like eternity when it finally caught up and moved I was able to get to the side and turn right. That van slammed on his brakes and blew right through where is was sitting and out to the middle of the intersection. Very narrow miss.
Every since then I have wished for INSTANT throttle response...!

I wasn't aware that was a known issue -- definitely sounds like that could be the cause. It just doesn't make sense that the truck behaves like this normally, stuttering upon hard acceleration (but with all the other problems with this AT, I wasn't surprised). I've only witnessed this in the situation I described above, but it is very repeatable, the single stutter every time. This morning I made an appt with the dealer for them to take a look.

That only happens to me on slippery surfaces. I go WOT frequently, such as when I am pulling out into traffic with a small window, unless I want to sit at the intersection for 20 minutes waiting for a larger spot. On dry pavement it is rare for TC to engage in my truck upon hard acceleration.

Mine does this too. It will do it then stall and not save any CEL . I think its the crank sensor. The dealer cant duplicate it. I am just gonna replace it myself its not that hard.

He's knee deep in R&D right now and has his long list of things he's working on, but did set the expectation that it will take quite a bit of time to get all of this dialed in properly. To keep it from getting too quiet we can throw wagers on release dates? haha

I'm guessing 1/6 after the holidays, but damn would be nice to have an update to tinker with before Christmas when I have a bit of time off to put it to the test!

nice. Currently running 1.02C-A, really like that one, no issues at
all with it. Haven't tried the other 2, not sure I will, this one feels right.

1.02C - A is what is on my truck as well and what I am developing forward from. I believe this file is the best of the 3

For people running 1.02C - A for over 500 miles, any MPG reports?

I'm seeing about 12-13 mpg in my truck city, 15-16 highway.

How about the “jerk” many of us have felt on that release where it feels like it’s hung between gears or something when day you are rolling to a stoplight then it turns green? That shift version was really jumpy for me but perhaps isolated?

I literally have zero issues with this, the low end & mids are great. I did end up trying the
87 map for a week and you're right, you can feel the lost power without running premium, I switched
right back and won't go back again. I can actually chirp the BFG KO2's off the line on dry pavement.
