3:08 and 3:42, the latter being their 'towing' rear end. Ford has 3:31, 3.55 and 3.73. The 6 speed Ford tows well with the 3:55 and better with 3:73. The new 10 speed is geared a bit lower so the final drive of the 10 speed and 3:31 is about the same as the 6 speed with 3:55.
It's not bad. If you look at the Ram, you can tell they have no confidence in their own transmissions. They highly derate the Cummins if you put one of the Chrysler trannys behind it but give it a big bump in power and torque if you spend an extra $3k and get the Aisin transmission.
Tacoma site but a BS thread. This thread touches on Tacoma related stuff once or twice a day. The rest of the content is heavily littered with other vehicles, sex toys, guns and various other shenanigans.

The Aisin is the autobox, right? I built a 2500 with a stick and sunroof for laughs and when it hit 65K I decided that it wasn't for me. If I'm spending 65K on a vehicle, it better be on my lottery list, or at least have a Porsche badge.

It is neat that you can get a stick in a full size regardless.

Think I’m going to need a class because Massachusetts is stupid and won’t recognize military service as a substitution. Once I get done with climbing school on the weekend I’ll know my schedule better

The Aisin is the auto gear box you can get as an option in the 3500 only. You can only get the Chrysler auto or the manual in the 2500.
I wonder what the final drive is for all the makes across the board though, I bet they aren't all that different.

Not considering the weight reduction from the F150 aluminum body, it has to be different in some way. Not sure what the F150 5.0 gets but a 5.7 will average about 14-15

Honestly, I've been spying in on a Ferd forum and some people who tow heavy with the F150 aren't having good luck with the new body. They have tried several different setups with the weight distributing hitch, even the high dollar ones, but the general consensus is that the truck is too light. I'm hearing that with people on jobsites also with the new Superduty since it went aluminum. People saying it's too light.
I checked those out. Ford's transmission (looking at the 10 speed) is geared lower but their axles are higher (3:31 or 3:55). I'm not sure if you can get 3.73 gears behind the 10 speed.
    1st gear ratio of 4.69:1; 2nd: 2.98:1; 3rd: 2.14:1; 4th: 1.76:1; 5th: 1.52:1; 6th: 1.27:1; 7th: 1.00:1; 8th: 0.85:1; 9th: 0:68:1; and 10th: 0.63:1

Interesting. I have heard that the aluminum body frees up a good chunk of weight, but i can see with it being lighter than the truck would probably not stop as well and get some more body roll. If i get a half ton it will be a Tundra, anything bigger and it will be a Chevy or Ford
