If respectfully done I’m okay with it I cant stand the im entitled to alot of space because i have a big truck attitude though. Those are typically the same aholes who “roll coal” at red lights because they think its cool when it can cause health problems to the passengers in cars behind them.

What's more respectful, jam packing it into an undersized parking spot that pretty much guarantees that BOTH sides of your $65k truck will get dinged by people pissed off that they can't get into their cars or taking up two spots as far away in the back of the lot as I can get? As a trailer hauler I often have to take up multiple spots in parking lots but I make every effort to do it at the rear of the lot, out of the way and what not.

To be more specific, I take 2 spots because the truck is too long for one.
BUT if there is a plow on it also, if the rows are narrow (they are), then you can't get out w/ vehicles crowding you in on both sides between the length & the tail swings out when you turn just like a ship.

But if I'm taking 4 spots, well you are going to have to walk way the hell out to the back of left field to spit on my truck, because that where I'd do it. At that point, my truck isn't in anyone's way or inconveniencing anyone, so the issue would be with the immature person hunting for "an issue" to self-police. #mallrateddramaqueens

:) correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Taco DCLB starts out at over 21' before the plow, hitch, ... LOL

Plus, if I saw somebody lobbing a clam onto my truck, they'd better not be upset when I walk out of my way to return the favor on their face, lol.

Do your research on the HD gassers. The 6.0 is proven but it's an old platform. The Dodge 6.4 and Ford 6.2 pretty much kick the hell out of Chevy's 6.0 at this point. Also, watch TFL Truck's Ike Gauntlet run with the Chevy 6.0, it was pretty bad, lots of gear hunting.
I think you can only get the Chevy 6.2 in the 1500. The HD is the 6.0 only.

Also others can chime in but at the cost to maintain a heavy duty vehicle as a daily as well as work vehicle it’s almost always significantly cheaper to have a small car for a daily and use the heavy as only a work rig

Yeah, sort of. When it comes to diesel, that's absolutely true. A 3/4 ton gas vs. 1/2 ton gas would be fairly comparable and, in some cases, the HD trucks are a lot easier to work on. They tend not to have sealed cases so you can actually change your own fluid and some have spin on transmission fluid filters, novel idea there... Solid axles also FTW.

I haven't noticed that to be the case. I've owned a number of trucks in my 35 driving years, both light and heavy duty. It's all about how they are driven. Beat the crap out of them and they break.

My former Cummins only cost more for oil changes due to taking 11 quarts. But I did save on not having to change plugs and wires (it was a 96).

And distance between changes. Not sure about the newer ones, but the older Cummins had a much longer oil change interval than a gas engine from the same era

It’s not just oil though its heavy duty tires, gas mpg, brakes, all more money preventative stuff it costs a good amount to keep a newer heavy duty gas or diesel purring to 150k-200k almost always cheaper now adays to have a basic vehicle to compliment a hd one

We had a 2014 or 2015 2500 6.2L at my old shop I'm pretty sure, just assumed they still used it. I don't look at new trucks since they are way out of my price range

Mines a Cabelas branded Liberty. I think it's basically what they call the Classic. It does the trick and works real nice, I've had it for over 15 years.

Something fireproof. I've got a 'Winchester' that I picked up from Tractor Supply on a sale a few years back that is actually pretty nice for the $$

Get more safe than you think you'll need; a 24 gun safe doesn't actually hold 24 guns if you want to be able to access them.

Yeah, mine is like a 24 gun safe but it fits 2 long guns, 2 pistols, about 8 boxes of ammo, a pile of camera gear, a box with personal info/passports/checkbooks/titles... basically it's chock full and it has 4 guns in it lol
