This. Hate hate HATE the rev hang thing. Makes driving the truck smoothly very difficult. If my foot is off the gas pedal and the clutch pedal is pressed, that tach should drop to idle immediately.

Currently it will hold the rpm’s up between shifts and weird shit like that. It’ll also hold the rev’s at 1200-1500 if you’re rolling at all. Clutch in or out. Even in neutral. I’ve got to ride the brakes to be able to drive slowly in parking lots in first or second gear. Otherwise it’ll rev up to 1500 rpm and whatever resulting speed that equates to.

I'll look into the rev hang as best I can,

as for the rolling change to idle, this is because the ECU targets different idle settings in nuetral no speed vs drive (wheels moving) is a completely different target idle

Thank you. It’s totally useless feature in every circumstances, rolling or not. When the gas pedal is not pressed at all, it should let the revs drop to 700 right away. And if rolling on gear (engine braking), immediately fuel cut off, now it demands quite powerful/long term engine braking before it cut the injection.

I have FJ, but the problems are the same in Tacoma.

I was thinking maybe a lighter flywheel would help with this problem but im not sure.

My X rev hangs. It isn't the end of the world, but I notice it a few times a week probably.

We looked at getting a manual transmission truck...one drive and we were both like ‘No Way!’. The Engine and transmission felt completely out of sync. Would be awesome for you guys if it could be tuned out.

Which generation did you test? I've admitted it before, the 2GR/6spd man. combination works very well. Even though I love my 1GR, 2nd generation manuals suck IMO, just not a good combination.

2013 6sp manual v6 (brand new...test drove in 2013) I’ve had several manual transmission first gen Tacoma’s (v6 and 4cyl) and they were great. In fact, every manual tans vehicle I’ve droven has been enjoyable to some extent...but that Tacoma we test drove was a complete no go

Mine is certainly not great. From a drivability standpoint anyway. I’ve learned to drive it smooth. But, spend the weekend in a proper stick shift vehicle and then get back in the taco on Monday; fuckin awful.

Test drove a manual and auto. I love manuals, but did not like the shifter or the rev hang on the manual. The 5sp auto was just smart enough not to feel like a total slushbox, and I like being able to manually select a max gear from 1-5. Adding a valve body kit is the icing on the cake.

Tunes aren’t finished yet, as all of the ECUs aren’t uploaded yet is where I believe the last update was left off at.
I think he said he’ll be working on them starting this weekend.

Are you going to be emailing us individually to get our tunes setup, or do we need to reach out to you?

He'll probably reach out to you, there's at least 3 of us I know that are waiting on our self tune codes. He reached out to us when he was able too. I'm understanding it's going to take longer than expected.

code replies sent out earlier this morning for you guys.

I will be helping everyone individually, as this initial setup process on the handhelds to get all ECU IDs is the growing pain process, and unfortunately unique to toyota because of how they do their ECUs.

Just got back from a business trip.... I downloaded the software, updated the software on the tablet and attempted to save the stock ECU.... got this
    "Calibration file not found 30473000"

just in case this is a one you do not have I thought I would post it here. Let me know where there is a software update that has these calibration codes and I will try again.
