Actually, a 400% ROI is only $4,000. You would have had a 40,000% ROI

I've noticed a trend the past few weeks.. LITECOIN always has the highest and best percentage over bitcoin and ethereum.

If you had an account- it wouldn't cost you anything to for the transfer: only to convert, and then, because the IRS considers cryptos "property" then you'd be looking at a capital gains tax if/when you convert to USD.

That's a good question, and people frequently mention the "housing crisis" and "the crash" of 2007/2008. When we look at what ACTUALLY caused that crash, it's essentially two things that made that happen- 1. it was a financial "product" that was created by the banks 2. The banks ultimately got greedy and put ACTUAL sub-prime mortgages into funds and packaged them as being "prime", because that's the only way to sell it.

If you watch the movie "The Big Short", Steve Carrell and his team went to the "rating agencies" and asked them how in the world could they rate these financial products with an "A rating" when in fact they actually weren't that. The lady looked at Steve Carrell and said "I'll get fired if I don't rate it that." If that isn't corruption and a manipulated market system- I don't know what is. That sort of thing happens all the time. It just happened so big, and so globally it affected all of us.

Other "banks" didn't do proper "due diligence" on the various financial products and took the ratings at face value- when in actuality they weren't "prime," they were "sub-prime."

Even now, as stated previously, every time CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) says something like "we are creating an option toward BitCoin" [as an example or something to that effect]- BitCoin "forks." By design. It's that way so it limits it's "manipulability." It's basically as free market as free market can get.

In all reality... If we were to have another "financial crisis," "sub-prime lending" or "market crash" like we did on '07/'08 I believe it would only drive the value of BitCoin/Cryptos even higher...

    Forks =
-BitCoin "Forked" to create "BitCoin Cash"
-BitCoin "Forked" to crease "BitCoin Gold"

    Make sense?

It means when the blockchain (research this to understand more) of which BTC and others are running on gets an upgrade to the system and in order for it to work, a vast majority of the people mining it have to agree to use the new protocol for it to go through. Not everyone can agree with the new changes so a sub cypto (for lack of a better term) is created and sometimes it gains traction and sometimes it doesn't. Ethereum Classic was the original Ethereum but forked a few years ago for vast improvements but a small amount of the ETH miners still use the old protocol so ETC is still out there for trade but not used for development like ETH is. It's how Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin gold happened. Bitcoin Cash is legitmate but Bitcoin Gold is junk although you can trade with it on certain exchanges it will never be used as a practical form of anything.

Yea the IRS will tax crypto.

If sold within a year, they will apply your income tax bracket %. If sold past a year, then they will apply capital gains tax.

If one did not declare gains on amounts more than $20k, I would seriously consider talking to a tax advisor on how to claim the gains now before the IRS comes knocking.

Are there any alt coins out there that can be mined with a typical gaming rig with reasonable results? Even if the coins aren’t worth much it would be kind of cool to try out mining and just hold onto the coins in the hopes they blow up like bitcoin did.

Would it even need to blow up? If you're able to mine numerous amount of currency, every time the value rises it compounds which in a sense enhances value. You wouldn't need to it increase much if you can continue to gain the currency.

If you guys want to buy Ripple I recommend Gatehub. I've been buying BTC on Coinbase and transferring it to Gatehub which lets you trade BTC for Ripple.

Coinmarketcap.com gives you most, if not all, exchanges any crypto can be bought through. Still, id do research on the exchange you’re thinking of using. A lot of them seem to go through bogus problems.

"The best time to buy was 10 years ago, the second best time was today"

Advice I read all over reddit concerning btc but I was always skeptical. Never bought in but I liked to follow it, especially this past year because it made ridiculous gains. I remember 8 or so years ago when it was ~$40 for one BTC. Then I forgot about it for awhile checked back a few years later $300?!?!? And this past year has been ridiculous. It was at $1200 at one point and I was still skeptical! Then it jumped up to 4? No way this is happening, somethings going to happen sometime soon... Look at me now. No lambo :( scared money don't make money

oh well I have some money in Ethereum though so theres that

So I've seen bunches of comments and info, but still hoping to find someone to answer my main question: What do you recommend as the best "wallet" to use that is (reasonably) as secure and safe as possible?
