Can't decide. I've had it for 4 months and used it twice, being a young kid trying to make it in the world, I don't get much time to get out there. So wondering if I should stick to a ground tent until I'm older and have time to go out at least once a month.

I have not been camping since I took my tent off. Its killing me! I tried going with a hammock, but I cant sleep when Im hanging. Thus, I must wait for my bed rack to be built

Unfortunately I can't. I live in an apartment, so it's been on my truck since the day it got here. I had my buddy make 8" tall bed bars so the top of the RTT sits at the same level as my cab. Totally destroys my cargo space though and it's near impossible to get into my toolbox back there. and it really weighs down the rear end being 147 pounds.

My RTT is inside my foyer (basically the same as this picture). Can you put it in a spare bedroom?

you shoulda seen this room before I moved everything around to get it finished. I have an extra Y pipe, spare set of headlights in boxes, spare driveshaft, RTIC 65 cooler, some plano storage boxes, stock sway bar, and some spare parts for my motorcycle. Now all that stuff is in my garage.

Since the room is done being worked on, Ill be slowly moving things back, but I need to downsize what I keep.

You and me both. I managed to get rid of the stock headlights. Still have my sway bar sitting in the closet molesting the paint right off the wall ;D

What's wrong with storing the tent on the ground like it is on the truck? Is there a plus to storing it upright ?

condensation that may build up on the floor material can drain.

That's the only thing i can think of. people with wood or the plastic floors may not have that issue.

The plus is that it takes up less floor space.

Did anyone ever come up with a DIY solution for anti condensation mats? I know some options have been tossed around but nothing that was locally available or in quantities needed to make a single mat.
Looking at the $120 Tepui option, but it's alot for something that seems like it could be simply replicated i.e. get air space under the mattress.

Well setup my Smittybilt XL tent today after just opening the box. Here's my feedback.
Pro's:. A lot of room, seems well built (only time will tell), bunch of storage pockets, a lot of windows for looking out, rainfly, seems sturdy, cost me under $900 shipped.
Cons: Quality control: so I got two bags of hardware (should only have one), and was missing the instructions, power outlet, led light strip and who knows what else. And another crappy thing was mounting the ladder. I was using instructions of regular tent from an online pdf file and it said the ladder mounting had two predrilled sets of holes. Well it didn't. Not a huge deal as I have the tools to do it but still. Seems quality control is not good. I had read in an Overlander forum other people had the same issue with the ladder. Well here are some pics. I'm having fun playing in it. 20171203_153541.jpg 20171203_163814.jpg 20171203_163944.jpg
